I could not agree more on Jacob. Other than Jacob, though, the main dialogue I was concerned with was Shepard's. Alot of the time when she talked I was like "WHAT? NO." Like when she said "KAIDAN, IT'S BEEN AWHILE..." I wanted Kaidan to renegade interrupt punch her in the face. How insensitive can you get?!
I admit I thought the whole "it's been a while" response sounded ridiculosu, but at the same time I can imagine my Shepard struggling to find something to say. For her it's been a few weeks at most, for him two year. I'm not sure I would have come up with anything intelligent to say had I been in that position.

I prefered the you look angry one, but I think it shows how unsure of the situation Shep was, here was the man she loved and still does, it's been days for her but he's had two years to get over her death, she has no idea if he's moved on, he could be involved with someone else, anything. TIM has deliberately told her nothing but she doesn't know that. What the hell is the right thing to say in that situation, so she goes and does what any normal person would, foot in mouth. I imagine her internally face palming for saying somthing so damn stupid.

I'd like to see some honest to goodness conflict between Kaidan and my Femshep,I don't think I'd find an "instantly falling into each other's arms and confessing undying love" immediately after re-uniting in person very plausible.
I think it's obvious that there's still very strong feelings there, they both still love each other a great deal but there's also some real hurt feelings on both sides and it's going to take some time methinks to get past that. Kaidan's email was a good start, but I think there needs to be more talking, perhaps some more interesting plot developments etc..before they can really come together as a couple again.
In thinking for my Femshep, while she does want to be with him, she's hesitant to open up again and would be more likely to give him a bit of the cold shoulder at first. Femshep and Kaidan are both strong individuals and a bit stubborn and bullheaded as well, it's going to take a while before one or the other swallows their pride and initiates a re-start to their romantic relationship.
In short, there'll be some fireworks before the sexy time IMO, which I'm okay with...they say that the best things in life don't always come easy...they will be together and hopefully will end up even closer this time around, but it's going to be a bumpy road to happily ever after...

I think there'll be def awkwardness about it, not really knowing what to say to each other and then when they do get talking frayed tempers, he's angry, she's angry, you were working with terrorists, I died etc etc
It wouldn't be realistic to open with oh I love you so much all is forgiven! But what I don't want is to spend 30+hrs of trying to patch things up to get a pre-final mission sex scene. Their romance has already eveloved beyond that and I would like to see it given the time it deserves.

Yeah, I think all of the romances deserve more exposition and development instead of three or four conversations and a sex scene before the endgame point of no return.
I really hope that they were serious when they said that there are consequences to cheating...and I hope that one of the consequences is that you miss out on awesome Kaidan/Ash or Liara content. Like an extra quest that only those who have been faithful to their romance options can complete, and a extra ending cutscene for us.
Okay, I'm ready for the ME3 hype machine to start up, I need reassurance that we're gonna get what we want this time...

I know I shouldn't pin all my hopes on what they did with DA but look at how quickly we found out about the expansion, 2 mths after it was released and 2 1/2 months after release we find out the next instalment will be due in a year, I only wish ME could be that fast, it would totally make my year, I'm not really interested in DLC if it doesn't have Kaidan in it so I need ME3 soooooooon before my head explodes!
I need to go look at a pic, I'm suffering withdrawl symptoms

Oh totally, I completely 100% agree...I'm expecting there to be some difficulty establishing things between them but I don't want to see strictly professional behavior for 85% of the game and then one BAM lovin's 'abound!! scene towards the end.
I'd like to see their relationship alluded to at points throughout the game, some conversations/cut scenes and perhaps a culmination/sexy scene or two in there somewhere
Your right, for those of us who have done the ME1/ME2 romances and intend/hope/wish to carry them in to ME3, things have evolved beyond just the initial "first time" intimacy bits and I'm hoping that things this time will be more serious, more intense and ultimately satisfying for those of us who yearn for some sort of positive conclusion for our Shep's and their loved ones.

Completely agree, that's why I think he needs to be a dang squadmate. because things can't just be magically happy and then they can't ignore it for 3/4ths of the game and then it be magically happy towards the end. That's just as bad. It needs to develop and I think Bioware can do something totally cool with it, since usually you don't see a romance developed once and then going through a hard time and developed again in a game, that's usually in movies. I really hope Bioware pulls through on this.

I'm hoping that we get a chance to reply (or at least another email) in a dlc, and then in ME3 we see a little bit more of an aggressive pursuit from Kaidan if you remained faithful. Honestly, Kaidan coming onto Shep instead of the other way around would make my insides melt. I mean, the guy may have emotional scars, but he's also risking losing the woman he loves for a second time by letting her move on.
I think that's one thing that was definitely missing in Dragon Age, and to a lesser extent, in both Mass Effect games; it would be okay by most of us if we are NOT the uber hero every second of the day, especially if being saved by a party member or a friend enhances the story.
A good example of this would be Anderson punching out Udina to let the Normandy leave the Citadel in ME1, it was awesome, it let a cool character shine, and I don't think players felt like their experience was lessened because it wasn't Shepard being the badass for that one scene. When we like NPCs, we want them to have their moments in the sun too.

I think the problem though (and this is purely speculation on my part) is that the game is marketed towards a group (mainly boys in their teens and twenties) who think that showing any kind of vulnerability automatically translates as a weakness. The same reason, ironically, why most of them don't like Kaidan as a character. Personally, I would love to see my femshep actually show a weakness because noone, no even Shepard, can be that strong all the time. That's why I especially love when she tells Kelly that she still has strong feelings for Kaidan or when she stares longingly at Kaidan's picture. I really think that Shepard is missing some of the more humanizing elements, and that's also why I think she'll be the one breaking down barriers again. *sigh*

I loved that part. I did the other option once and never did it again. I always told Anderson to chose and "he made this personal" line was just great.
I'm also hopeful for e-mail dlc. I'd like to be able to somehow reply to them. And YES insides melting if Kaidan came swooping in somewhere to turn the tide in a life or death battle and then joins the team with something about "I couldn't risk losing you again" .
