Swooping is good. I too feel that Kaidan's got too make up for the things he said, even in the email which seemed like a kick when you're down (went out for some drinks with a doctor, did you?). His behavior (and outright "See ya around" behavior) pushes Shepard into another romance. In my first playthrough I went for Garrus since it was made pretty clear that it was more of a friends with benefits than a romance. I'd expect that Kaidan's potential reaction to that in ME3 might be similar to his cornering of Shepard in ME1 concerning Liara. That would give those of us who gave in to temptation a chance to decide if we still want to pursue a relationship with Kaidan. Either way, though, I think he would still have to do some serious swooping in order to redeem the fact that he was just sitting around while Shepard and her real friends went on a suicide mission in the interest of the galaxy. Isn't that what he loves about her?

I agree...if we have to be the ones to take the initiative in ME3 to spur things on romantically, then obviously we'll go there , but it would be really, really sexy and well all around pretty damn nice were Kaidan to do more of the pursuing this  go 'round.

Who knows? maybe it'll be something akin to him waking up (more so than in the email since he's actually around her assuming he'll be a squad mate) and realizing that he's not the only one hurting, not the only one who is shocked and having a hard time dealing with things, he may understand that in order to completely win over the heart of the woman he loves again, he's going to have to go on the hunt....

I'm kinda wanting to see a cut scene/speech that contains an epic "I lost you once, I WON'T lose you again..." .........cause' I think he's seriously hot when he gets all fiery...and damn but Fiery Kaidan + an epic passionate speech about how crazy you make him and how never wants to be without you again...oh wow:wub:

I hope the game dialogue writing gods are taking notes *prays*

I'd like to add that I'm not for making Kaidan a total hothead this time around as I'm quite happy with his shy/sweet/brave/serious persona...but we've seen that when his emotions get the best of him that he can sometimes let things get a little fiery (Horizon), I'd like to see the same Kaidan that we've all grown to love in ME3, but I'd like to see him show a little more of that fiery side as well...it would definetly give evidence to the depth and intensity of his feelings for Shep...

In all honesty I think there is a chance that if you cheat the game may simply register your ME2 LI as your LI and you won't have the opportunity to reconcile with the one you had from ME.

The Devs did say that they wanted to conclude the romance in ME3 but that the romance you started out with might not necessarily be the one you end up with.

Not necessarily...he could still be a squad member...you just wouldn't get the romance options. Only those that stayed loyal could continue the romance.

ETA: consequences for cheating perhaps.

That was what I figured when they said consequences, how is it a consequence if there's a bunch of people you consider sexy and awesome fighting over you? I mean, they'd have to at least give some notion that you HAD one, but you'd think it would be like "too bad, so sad."



I mean, because a fight between LI's would NOT be a consequence in my opinion. But yeah, cameo would suck. I'd still buy itj ust to see that reconciliation, but I mean, it can't be like this time, they have to CONCLUDE it so it can't be like "ohai...we're good now."

Still thinking it'll be more than a cameo or a string of cutscenes...if Wrex can't be a squad mate because he could die and they held Kaidan/Ash and Liara back so they wouldn't die...kinda makes me think squadmates never the less it doesn't hurt to keep pushing for it since they'll also want to be making a stand alone game and they'll need a new squad for that. I just hope Kaidan/Ash and Liara will be in the place in ME3 that Garrus and Tali were in ME2. It's their turn.

I wonder if Kaidan will take the Carth approach from KOTOR. When he learns the truth about your character's past he is upset and doesn't want to talk to you. By the end of the game(if you are not evil) he realizes what a catch you are and expresses his love for you. Maybe a FemShep/Kaidan romance will only be possible if you were loyal and you ditched Cerberus to the curb. (Just thinking out loud.)

I am not sure I completely trust Dr. Chakwas either, she would have been able to see your frequent interactions with both Kaidan and Liara.

Honestly, I want the romance to be a unique experience.

I would hope not too.  Otherwise what would be the point of swaying Kaidan to your renegade point of view in ME1 and still pursuing him as a LI.

I agree...it does seem off. I wonder how many of the writers were the same ones from the original game. Not only does the dialog sometimes seem out of character...it sometimes seems to lack continuity. And whoever wrote Jacobs dialog needs to court marshaled.

Anyway regarding the writers .... pretty much the same group based upon a comparison of the credits for ME1/ME2.   

And yes,  more shirtless Kaiden please!

However I suspect that the intentional shift in focus to make the game more attractive to the action-shooter crowd has had its impact on the RPG portion of the game.  I mean, I love Halo for the action but the conversation?! 

I sure hope that the writers/producers remember that the reason we like their games has a lot to do with the immersive relationships......

They can't be completely blind to how the romance options are dominating the discussion on the forum.  I have to admit, while I feel left out as a ME1 love interest fan who is staying faithful on all my characters, they did something right, as the Tali and Garrus fans are pretty darned rabid.

All I want right now is a sign that they notice that other characters are loved and wanted too.  We Kaidan fans are like the good children who get less attention because Mother knows we'll behave, while the wild sibling gets all of her time.

I've said this before, but it needs repeating. I really think that all
potential LI's will be back as potential squad mates in ME3. (hell, i
think its possible just about every possible squad mate ever can
return). Mainly because they can't simply include some love interests,
and not others. So its an all or nothing deal, and I really can't see
them not bringing back any, so that only leaves bringing back all of
them.

I would LOVE that exclusiveness, it makes it so much more rewarding and I definitely did both of those things, but I know some people would probably be irritated if they were renegade or wasn't bothered by working with Cerberus, but how coul you NOT be?  Anyway, I like that idea.
