Anyway regarding the writers .... pretty much the same grou based upon a comparison of the credits for ME1/ME2. However I suspect that the intentional shift in focus to make the game more attractive to the action-shooter crowd has had its impact on the RPG portion of the game.  I mean, I love Halo for the action but the conversation?! 

I sure hope that the writers/producers remember that the reason we like their games has a lot to do with the immersive relationships......

They can't be completely blind to how the romance options are dominating the discussion on the forum.  I have to admit, while I feel left out as a ME1 love interest fan who is staying faithful on all my characters, they did something right, as the Tali and Garrus fans are pretty darned rabid.

All I want right now is a sign that they notice that other characters are loved and wanted too.  We Kaidan fans are like the good children who get less attention because Mother knows we'll behave, while the wild sibling gets all of her time. 

So maybe we shouldn't be good?

Every time I start to worry that Kaiden won't be back in a big way, I go to an IGN interview with Casey Hudson who talks about the ME 1 romance continuing into game 3.  I've posted the link below in case you haven't seen it.  The relevant paragraph(s) start on page 2.

It does indeed give me hope as well. Hopefully he really means that and isn't just saying it to quiet us down.

I wish you would.  I haven't written in ages an all this talk is making me wanna write a fanfiction, and believe me... I do NOT have the time!  But mannn... I have to find some relief... I won't get any closure for at least another year and a half!

But...in actuality...I don't care. At all. He could pretty much just walk up to Shepard completely out of nowhere and say, "It's been too long, Shepard. How have you been?" and nothing else could be said about anything that happened in the past. And I'd be sooo happy. Because any amount of Kaidan at any time makes me happy

I just really hope that any expansions/dlc for ME2 include the former ME1 squadmates that weren't apart of the ME2 team.  It would be so neat to have something where Shepard is recruited by Kaiden/Ashley to help the Alliance out on a mission  and then you get the opportunity to either start rebuilding that bridge or declaring undying love for your ME2 interest. 

I've got a Thane and a Garrus save, now I'm working on my loyal save and the more I think about it the more I think that will be the file I play first going into ME3.  The relationship built with Kaiden was done a lot better than that with the others... then again that is one thing that suffered a little in ME2 when the focus wasn't as RPG as the first... Loyalty missions are a great way to pull in non-RPGers into one of the RPG fundamentals, getting invested/connected to the characters, without making it too D&D but the romances seemed rushed at times.  The Kaiden relationship was built up really well and I missed that in ME2.

Haha....fanfic is a nice filler until the next game. I started one after the whole siege of the citadel but before the whole killed by collectors incident. I figured Kaidan needed to be filled in on Shepard's past and they should run into her old unit in a bar or something, much to her chagrin. Never panned out. Actually, I have like 8 sitting on my hard drive which will probably never see the light of day. So, pretty please do write some so I can have some closure with the whole Kaidan relationship.

Yeah I can see your point...because any bit of Kaidan is a good thing (altho' more and more Kaidan would be an even better thing)...still it's good to hope <3:wub:

I agree all those fans who say they won't buy the game if its just a cameo confuse me, any bit I get with Kaidan would be more than enough to make me get the game... I just want something, I'll be irritate if I get nothing more than a cameo, but hey, at least it's Kaidan!

True. For now I'm desperate and I can say I will be happy with any amount of Kaidan. But I'd probably cry if there wasn't a lot of it. I'm not really worried about it though. I have no doubts he'll have a nice full role in ME3. Maybe I'm just delusional because my brain wouldn't be able to handle this not being the case. But yeah, not really worried.

Re: fanfic. It's a temptation. I kind of started some. But the problem is that I have a couple of people in my head who are like "what?!? What about OUR happiness and relationship you keep messing up? Come on, you owe us to fix this first!" Man do normal people have these problems?



Then again, do "normal" people hang this much on the Kaidan Alenko thread...?

That's exactly what I'm doing, too. Thane's my all-Paragon playthrough, Garrus will be my Renegade one, and Kaiden is my canon Shep playthrough. And that will definitely be the one I play first because I always play the ME games initially just to experience things and do things the way I want to, and then I go back and replay to get achievements, see different conversation options, etc. And since there will, of course, be some sort of Insanity/Hardcore/Multiple playthrough achievement, Kaiden will get my initial playthrough and then a second when I go back to get level cap and that particular achievement.

I have completed 2 playthroughs already and still havent gotten the Paramour achievement yet. Stayed with Kai and Liara so far. My single shep hasnt hit the game yet.

I'm not getting the paramour achievement I decided that almost as soon as I completed my first loyal playthrough, Kaidan has so much ground on ALL of the LIs, it's kinda embarrassing.
