One was a rabid xenophobe and the other a gloomy wimp. The non-human characters were all a lot more interesting.
I'm hoping we have a choice as to who we can recruit in ME 3. A set up where if you recruit character A. character C will not join up would be great.
In your opinion, we do however agree on one thing, I don't want to have to include psycho's like Jack in my party whereas I would glady welcome back Kaidan/Ash/Liara. I think the key to making everyone happy is choice.
I'd take Jack over Kaidan, with her enhanced biotics and L5 implant. Do you think they'll upgrade Kaidan from his L2 or is that to central to his character?
I can't approve of either the Ashley or Kaidan romances. It's highly unethical to become involved with a jr. officer or NCO under your command. I was very unhappy about that aspect of ME 1.
I hope they leave him with his L2 implant. I think it's important to him, and he has resoundingly refused upgrades in the past. I don't see him changing his mind unless he was forced to (like it was going to explode his brain).
I know for me the whole "inappropriate" part of the romance is what I like. Both Kaidan and Shep know that they shouldn't be flirting, and they shouldn't get involved, but the fact that they do shows a much more human side. Regs be damned!
It's not really about the regs, it's about getting involved in a relationship with a subordinate while being in a strict power hierarchy. It’s like dating your admin assistant or an intern with less HR protection for them.
It is also bad for ship morale and general discipline.
So Liara is my ME1 LI each play through. I was really happy with the new choices in ME 2.

So are you making this argument in the Ashley Williams Support thread also, or do you think it's easier to troll this thread, where the participants are predominantly women? Just curious.
Seriously, as Kaidan fans, we're very used to haters. We know you think he's whiny/wimpy/gay/Carth/a threat to your masculinity just by being a male character. Coming into the Kaidan Support thread just to reiterate this isn't edgy or special.
So, in conclusion,
Kaidan's backside thanks you for the bumps!!!

Ok so the word 'morning' and this pic put a thought into my head that really shouldn't be broadcast in public, but hey, what do I care, who else is wondering exactly what his leg is hiding?

Well I think hijacking the Normandy and going against Council orders might just be a bit worse, so fraternization might as well be added to the mess![]()

As for whether or not they carry on later, well, the game implies it's a one-night thing. My personal belief is that Shep will not be Alliance in ME3, which means there will be no regs against him/her getting back together with Kai/Ash. In my fanfic, I wrote that Shep and Kai had more than just one night together, and I stand by that. They both know full well that they're breaking the rules, but they're unapologetic about it. It's a choice that they've made and they are aware of the consequences of their actions.

I too think it was more than one night, I think the reference of remember that night on Ilos wasn't because it was the only one but rather it was special because it was the first and under the most unique set of circumstances. I don't necessarily think they were at it like bunnies (although I know I would be!) but I think there would have been many intimate moments both involving and not involving actual sex, in the month b4 the attack I think they would have become very very close hence Kaidan's struggle to get over her death and his reaction on Horizon.

Well, I saved the Council on my playthrough. I'm not sure after the devestation of the fleets that they could afford to give much shore leave to anyone (not even the Normandy). At least not in my version of the story. If I ever get my thoughts unmuddied enough to write these stories, I'll sharez.
