BTW, which option did you guys pick when speaking to Joker after Horizon? I found all 3 very lacking in what I wanted to say.

Kaidan was also guarding a high priority mission objective. There was no way to guarantee that the nuke would go off unless I went back. He was one person against a wave of Geth. :(

I mean honestly people, 1984 was a warning not a bloody instruction manual.

Now I feel the need to disconnect from XBOX live so I don't end up calculating Pi all day for the overlord.

Haha!  "What a tool he was, plugging in the overlord."

Funniest line ever!!!!!!!!!

I do feel a little ........ violated (and no not in a good way!) by the whole we are watching thing but if they can see how obsessed with Kaidan I am then it can only a good thing!

My Shep went with the top option. She wasn't about to share (even with Joker) her real feelings over the situation. Best to make him think things went well.

I agree none of the responses really seemed right to me. I'm not sure which one I picked but I remember my Shepard saying something like "He moved on, can't say I blame him"

I finally went with the top too, but I like the last one better, except in the first one Joker replies: "Oh good, can't imagine what your mood would have been like if that had gone south..." But in the last one where you are moody he just says something like: "Righht.."

Not fond of angry Shepard, Joker is not. ^_^

This, I don't really imagine Shep would say what she was thinking so a so so option seemed best but I really liked Jokers response although internally Shep would have wanted to punch him on the arm for that one!

I don't know, I thought the last option was more in keeping with the mood. The dude who was madly in love me like a week ago from my perspective just turned his back on me and I am ticked off. I thought the whole, "Just reminds me I've lost more than two years" line really showed how much she had cared and how high her hopes had been when she saw him.

My Shepard is very paragon, but I chose the renegade "this just reminds me of how much I've lost, I'm sick of this garbage" option...it best fit my opinion of the situation.  Joker's stunned response was great too.Posted Image

Think I picked the third option on my first runthrough as well, mostly because the descriptions on the wheel made me go WTF? I mean "It went great" or something along those lines? Really?

Just going through my 3rd ME2 playthrough...got to the Horizon bit last night and even though I know what's going to happen, still get that teensy bit of sadness afterwards...:crying:

Last night was the first time I took Femshep to get drunk at The Dark Star afterwards tho'...blowing off a little steam

When I was walking around the citadel, I had to chuckle when I kept overhearing that "I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite store on the citadel" endorsement....I thought to myself that I hope after our experience on Horizon, Kaidan heard that A LOT and it tugged at his heartstrings...sure he'll keep Shep in his head after their re-union, but every little reminder helps!!! :P

Since we're roleplaying here, I like to think that his heart skips a bit and he sighs longingly whenever he hears that....<3<3

This kinda makes me feel like I'm gonna hurl. Most people are going to play more than one save and if the save isn't a single Shep it's gonna look like they don't care at all for the old LI's. It only has to be one save...they could be faithful on 20 other saves and still it's gonna look the same. And a lot of people are just trying out the new LI's for the sake of trying them...it's not even that they like them...they just want to try out every aspect of the game.

Player:I stayed loyal to my old LI in my canon save.

Bioware: Yeah, but you had 20 other saves where you cheated so we didn't really think you cared much for your old LI so we threw him out the airlock.

This has me a little nervous as well.  I wonder how this info is tracked.  If it is just by the percentage of players wit the Paramour achievment, then I do think that they will get a skewed view.  My canon Shepard is a Kaiden girl through and through, but I do have an import with no prior romances so that I can earn the achievment.  There is no greater proof of fangirldom then being willing to forgo a completionist achievment in order to get Kaiden back!

Maybe we could also try bribery?  I make REALLY good cookies.  No, really, I've won awards for them.  If I send some to the writers, will it help our cause?

(This is...very long. And it's...full of ands... Sorry, couldn't help myself.)

Another reminder of how I lost more than time.

I loooove that line. It sums up ME2 to me. Actually for both ME1 and ME2 the relationship with Kaidan matches up with the rest of the game. With the first game everything is new and exciting and full of potential.

And then you die. And you wake up surrounded by people you were fighting to take down before. And you can't contact any of your old friends. And you have to just go along with Cerberus a little bit because you're a leader and a hero and it needs to be done. And then you can talk to Tali, but she can't join you yet.

But then you get Joker back and Chakwas and the Normandy and it is nice, but they're kind of a reminder of how everyone else isn't there. And anytime I stop paying attention and my brain goes on auto-pilot I end up standing in front of the cook/janitor. And it's like...this is the Normandy, but this isn't the same.

And then you can go to the Citadel and you can talk to Anderson, but he won't tell you about Kaidan and he kind of helps you, but it is still a little weird. And just everything is about all of these losses.

And the tone is darker. The stories are darker. The places are darker. Everything just seems to be as down in the dumps as you are.

And then you get Garrus back and it's like...my Shepard clung to him. Not necessarily in the I want to pursue you romantically way--but just because it was the first thing that really felt normal and right after you lose everything. And he got shot and he's sad because he lost all of his people and it's just like--this is what happened after you died. This is how everything fell apart because you weren't there.

And then you get more people and they're awesome and cool, but they're still just these new people.

And then you get to Horizon. And you get to Kaidan. And he's mad at you. And I agree with everything he says and just feel so guilty about it.

And then you get back to the bridge and you have that line. "Another reminder of how I lost more than time." That line IS mass effect 2 to me.

And then the rest of the game is still darker and lonelier than the first game, and for that one mission before the email my Shepard is just going through the motions. Need to save the galaxy, do this and do that because the galaxy needs it to be done.

And then you get the email. And there's hope for the future. And everything is a little bit better after that. The galaxy is still a darker place and there's still no Kaidan in it, but there's a hope that's there. The trips to the cabin are so much more fulfilling when it's feed fish, look at picture, read email and not just feed fish, look at picture--because there's something of his there that he gave to you and there's that connection of a personal reason to save the galaxy--because you're doing it for Kaidan.

And then you can run into Liara and Wrex and Tali joins up and the momentum builds and you get excited again. The Normandy is no longer an empty place because after the email hits then the story changes from reminding you of everything you've lost to gaining back everything you've lost.

And you look at his picture before the battle. You get your head in the game and you're thinking about him. And then you do it. And you win and you live and now there's just one more thing you need to get back.

And that's why he's in ME3 in a big way and not just as a cameo. Because everything is all about him, dang it.

And that one line you say to Joker is the what the story of ME2 is for me.

I chose that one too because it just made sense to me...IMO, My Shep may be one badass lady, fantastic in a fight and with a strong sense of honor and duty...but she's still human and she loved him, he was the first person that she'd ever really opened her heart to. Shep was hurt and defensive and a bit bristly after the Kaidan re-union, it's only natural that she'd feel a huge let down afterwards, perhaps be a bit moody and take a little time to regain her composure.

Intergalactic ass-kicking may be the most important job here, but it doesn't nor should it in my opinion stop your character from having feelings and at time, releasing said feelings. Even the strongest heroes break down once in a while....

I prefer shore leave for my Shep...that they had a week where they could be alone and once back aboard the Normandy they held back on the actual sex for the sake of the regs. But however someone chooses to look at it, I love the fact that Joker calls it dating...shoots a hole in theory of all those that thought it was a one night stand.

My personal take agrees with yours.  As a responsible leader, you've just put your people through hell, you need to give them a chance to relax befor jumping back into the fray.  I alway pictured taking some of those millions I earned and springing for a nice hotel for my crew, with a really nice dinner and one night.  She wouldn't be showing up (and neither would a certain lieutenant :innocent:) but it seems the least she could do for all the hard work they put in.

But for all that I think that Shepard and Kaiden might have been willing to take the night before Ilos (since let's face it, fraternization would be just the cherry on top of the charges), I doubt they were still sleeping together once they were back to work.  They are both professionals, and Kaiden was right in that they had a great crew, and jepardizinging it just for some bunk time doesn't seem like something they'd do.

Though I realy like how you can talk to Kelly after Horizon and she asks if you have strong feeling for him.....the YES! option needs to be in big bold letters with the ! as well.....just the thoughs of a shenko fan girl here.

Edit: Oh and who else here thinks that you should be able to examine the picture of Kaidan on your desk and stare lovingly at it, because as my femshep said in the before Ilos scene " You make me feel like I can take on the universe, and right now i kind of have too."

But yeah, I just got through playing(still trying to raise the body count without killing Shep) and I kept thinking "Am I being watched" Glad to see I'm not the only one a little disturbed by it. Bioware is starting to sound more like Cerberus.

It doesn't bother me that BW are tracking information from the game. Almost all companies do that kind of thing these days. Most of them track purchase and purchases habits from stores like Wal-Mart. I actually prefer if they track more than just achievements that people have (as achievements can be misleading).

I dunni, that's a hell of a lot of choices to watch from a hell of a lot of people, I'm always dubious about claims like these it's like watch CSI when they pick up the reflection off the murder from someones eye, I mean look at CCTV, half the time a full face shot is so blurry that they can't identify the criminals, it's just pushing what I can believe really.

Yeah I would always look towards the cook/janitor and think that's where Kaidan is supposed to be.
