Part of me sort of wishes Kaidan was taken on Horizon because that would have been a great driving goal to find the collector base and save him. I think I would have liked that more then the angry conversation and I'm sorry email, though I feel it did work for the story overall.

I completely agree! That would have been so much better Posted Image

Thought that would be the case for a moment when I was still in the pre-release speculation period. When Bioware stated the LI's would not be squadmates but were still a part of ME2, I wondered where they were going with the romance.
At one point I even thought Kaidan would be Shepard's link to the Alliance, turning her into more of a spy within the Cerberus network. But that was all well before I learned what would go down in ME2. And sadly the role I pictured Kaidan would have was nothing like the tiny part he got.

But then again, they are making us REALLY look forward to ME3. Not that I wasn't doing that already.

Hmmm, but then we wouldn't have been able to get Lilith smoothie without Kaidan soup, a disturbing thought Posted Image

I definitely agree with that...Bioware could have done so much more with incorporating Kaidan/Ash and Liara into the main storyline than what they did. What they did was okay but we really don't know how well it fits into the bigger picture until ME3, so for now we're left holding the bag. I hope they don't do any sacrificing of the LI in ME3...I had enough of that with DAO.

Me too.  But I would have rushed through the game so bad.  And for whoever said we wouldn't get a Lilith smoothie without it, maybe she could get liquified and we could get there just in time to save Kaidan.  Yeah, convenient, but still...

This play through I made friends with Kelly so she'd feed my damn fish.

I thought I was friends with Kelly and my fish all died!  Do you have to tell her that you'd embrace her?  Cuz I didn't want to give her the wrong idea (I was out for Thane).

After you get Samara and Kelly talks about her tell her she's pretty and then have dinner. After that she'll feed your fish.

I think it's a combination of both and I think blaming Joker would be a subconcious thing although he'd prob feel guilty for that too!  Like the Rahna thing, he blamed the Turian and himself, he said that he'd got over the Turian but not Rahna, in two years I supect the blame he felt towards Joker was there with the blame he assigns to himself.

Does that make sense? I know what I'm trying to say but am not sure it's coming across right.

Kaidan sounds pretty much tormented. He deserves a happy ending...can you hear me Bioware?

Every time he gets something going right in his life it gets ripped out from under him...I'm surprised he isn't a basket case by now...especially being a L2 biotic. Sometimes I wonder if he subconsciously kept the L2 implant as a way to punish himself for what happened with Vrynnus and Rahna. I know on the surface it's a stronger implant that the L3 but maybe somewhere underneath it all maybe he wanted to punish himself with the headaches and such(or maybe he's just kinky..I don't know).

But it's just friends, right?  I don't wanna put off the ones I'm actually after because they think I'm into Kelly.

It certainly would have got me there quicker, I'd have skipped every loyalty mission and sacrificed the entire crew if it meant getting to Kaidan on time.

Of course the prob with that is there would have to be a chance Kai/Ash could get liquidized and they said they didn't want them to be able to die which is probably why they avoided that route.

Combine it with how the people on Horizon respond to him and I feel even worse for him. Especially the guy at the end. Kaidan can sure take a lot, just like Shepard.

Yeah, its just friends. Its only more than friends if you want it to be after the mission is done. Just don't have her come visit you in the cabin and you're cool. It probably won't be an option anyways if you're after Thane.

No! Then Lilith and Kaidan would be spending even more time together with their pods all next to each other... And it means Kaidan wouldn't have seen Shepard to confirm she was alive. Grrrr. Gotta keep those two separate!

Didn't think of that...certainly don't want Kaidan in a pod next to Lilith.

What about Shep?  Mine has not only been through Akuze, but her parents were killed by slavers....then she defeats a reaper and is a) killed by the collectors, B) dumped by her boyfriend who thought she was dead, and c) sent through the Omega 4 to face the Stay-Puff-Marshmallow-Reaper (sorry, that's what the human reaper reminded me of).

I think she deserves not only a lot of TLC, but a frickin' happy ending and I want a beautiful sunset with it, dagnab it!!

I'm pretty sure that "happy" and "ending" are two words that cannot form a phrase that makes sense to Bioware. :police:

My theory is that they are miserable in Edmonton and so must torture us all.

Lol, nah he would have come out of the pod shouting at you, after a quick hug of course ;-)
