According to Prima's Guide,  I should have several choices regarding the final demon.  I can bargain with her for Connors soul, the Blood Magic specialization, a tome etc.  I get no chance to bargaiin.  I had Wynne and she said something to the effect that she wouldn't let the demon possess her/us, and attacked.  Replay, the same thing happened.  Even though I clicked the other conversation option, she picked a fight.

I thought, maybe it was her high morals that wouldn't allow her to "bargain" with the demon.  So,  I went and got naughty Morrigan..did the quest,  with her and the same thing happened.  No matter what I selected for her to say, she too picked a fight.  When it's over, fade to castle...no loot, no options..no nothing.

What's the story here...is there supposed to be a choice or am I getting another "bug".....thanks

You can only bargain if you play a Mage PC and enter the fade to confront the demon yourself.

If you are not a mage, just go upstairs and kill every one. More xp that way.

I used Jowa to enter the fade and kill the demon.

Was that a bad move?

Well... it changes your possible ending consequences. Blood magic, as you might gathered, isn't very popular in Ferelden

Well... I guess for the bad. It changes the stance of Alistair with you for sure (negative approval), and I do believe Arl Eamon will treat you also in a less friendly way, but cannot recall it

I got plus 8 approval from Alistair with the blood magic ritual by selcting the "I thought that went well" option. That might be a glitch.

It's not. NPC's know nothing about any deals you make with the deomen, they just look at the overall outcome of the quest. In case you make a deal, Connor is saved (for now) and this results in a positive outcome. By killing the Demon in the Fade as a mage you lose a spelltome which is the main part of a level up and therefore a very unwise thing to do.

Or, no matter what class, go upstairs, kill everyone but Connor, then go to the Circle to fetch some mages.  You get the XP, and do it the 'good' way.

--You can even talk to Connor w/o triggering Demon fight, just be careful with your responses and DO NOT try to enter the Arl's bedroom.

But, there's no way to bargain with her if you don't play a mage. Right??? Playing as a Rouge, or using Wynne or Morrigan won't bring up the "bargain" option according to a previous post...

I think this stinks...any character you play or who represents you, should trigger this or any other option that would be available.

Correct. It is a bummer and I'm finally playing as a mage and got the BM specialization. It's hard because my favorite class is by far rogue. Mage is pretty cool too but rogue rocks! (for me at least ;)

I started my first game as a Mage until I got sick of not being able to open chests, ( didn't know about Leliana) so started again as a Rouge...Never played a Rouge in any game I played...but, you're right, there good.  Will try a Mage again, all the way through this time. Didn't you loose Allister or Wynne (somebody) when you got the BM...did it change the way npc's reacted and treated you?  Was it worth it..

What'd you do about Connor...did you get the help from the Circle or did you make the same mistake I did...?

Its rogue god damn you, rogue, not rouge (thats a colour) :)

And honestly I think it is good the other mages can't bargain for you. When you let them enter the fade it would be bad writting if you could suddenly let them act completly out of character. There is simply no way Wynne would bargain with a demon and the same goes for the rest of the mages you can send to the fade.

I got it for the achievement then reloaded the game from right before my mage bargained and whupped the stuffins out of the skank demon. Since I happen to like Wynne (dang good healer there) I haven't really ever used the Blood Mage spec. I like Arcane warrior/spirit Healer combo better.

I rarely use the BM spec either, but Blood Wound really is pretty awesome.  Area effect, crowd control plus damage, and no friendly fire makes a *very* powerful combo.

The first time I did it by sacrificing Isolde he berated me for allowing Jowan to use blood magic when I selected, "What did you want to say?".

This time I selected "I thought that went well" and he said the same things as if you get help from the circle.

How can he different opinions on your actions for these two options? Either way I did the same thing and in one he cares in the other he doesn't.

Disagree, it is a glitch.  He gives minimum -10 disapproval with a persuade check for killing Isolde, probably more for Connor, and without the persuade check I think it is -20.  He's not going to suddenly think things are all hunky-dory just because you say you think it went well.

And the last portion of your answer suggests powergaming, which is not everyone's cup of tea.

Don't know what "powergaming" is, but I got minus from Allistair for all but the "that went well" option. I think it gave me 8 or 9 plus...but I didn't have the BM.

I was really bummed to read that only a Mage PC can go to fight the Demon. Since I'm playing as a Rogue, I won't get any of the neats options...to loose a "free" point really stinks... Why'd the devs do that?? The player shouldn't have their character loose out on a good available option, just cause they played something other than a mage. At the very least, at least give the Rogue or Warrior their chance to get the extra point somwhere in the story..

..........It's rogue, rogue, gd you, not rouge (that's a color)......was the "god damn you",  really needed?

Since you were kind enough to point that out please, let me return the favor..or should I write, favour...check your punctuation..there's a ( ' ) in its...and thats..as in, it is, that is.  Oh yes, and let us not forget the "writting"....do you own a dictionary???

I'm not 100% sure, but I think if you go the "good" route, not making a deal with the demon, saving Isolde and Connor, you get a bonus talent when you finally save Eamon with the Urn. Unless you always get one at that point? I haven't paid a lot of attention to which parts of the game you get bonus talents.

I think you get that no matter what.  I'm not 100% sure though.
