I recently finished ME2 and then imported the old character to begin a new game on insanity level.    I noticed all my old skills and powers were still fully active at their peak levels from the prior game.    About half-way through the opening level (Lazurus Station), you reach the crippled NPC Wilson and have to heal him then blast through some explosive crates.

Problem No.1:
Since all my old armor and Medi-Gel levels were apparently imported at their peak levels (5/5), when I go get the Medi-gel to heal Wilson (in order to move the story forward), the action of getting the Medi-gel from the dispenser cause two Medi-gel in my inventory to disappear, leaving me with 3 Medi-gel (from the original 5).   The status box even shows -2 Medi-Gel being subtracted from your inventory as you supposedly "get" it from the dispenser.   That is just wrong.

Problem No. 2: Same room.  After healing Wilson and eliminating the LOKI Mechs that pour in from the other door, you are supposed to explode the explosive crates to move forward.   I replayed that section many times but even when using the unlimited biotic power of "incinerate" and using up all the grenades and clips firing at the explosive crates... they don't explode.   That is a clear bug.    If anything, on insanity levels, explosive crates should not be invulnerable.   Moreover, they block the path and must be exploded if a character is to move forward in the story.   So the game ends at the start.

You have to use Wilson to Overload the crates, only way. Big message at the bottom of the screen says that and turns out it's true..:crying:

Edit: And yea, I lost 3 medi-gels at the Wilson part.

Thanks, just found that out on another replay. I didn't notice Wilson had overload, but you apparently have to go into the shift menu to find it if he doesn't randomly use it. Nothing else works, - grenades, incindiery ammo, incinerate all fail to set off the explosive crates.

I think on prior run-throughs Wilson must have randomly used it in proximity to the crates or I accidentally used it instead of some other power and didn't catch the connection given the firestorm of other activity going on at the same time.

If your character had Overload at the time that would set the crates to boom-boom also, could be what happened. Squad buddies don't blow up the enviorment without direction, at least in that situation.

My Adept needed Wilson both times while one of my characters blew through on their own. Engineer maybe.
