Zevran is a bastard.

If you are not going to be his friend, kill him.

So what if he tries to kill you when you first meet him? Just makes the sex all the more interesting later

He's witty, clever and I even like his bragging. He does remind me a little of Spike from BtVS (my alltime favourite fictional character), he has the same vulnerability behind the bravado. And he's also a rather practical hedonist, like Spike often was before the soul.

*SPOILER*
Zevran loved a GIRL .. But some conspiracy made him kill her , thinking she was a traitor and used him.The assasin his actually one of his close friend when he was with the antiva Crow.
His mission to kill you was actually a *suicide mission* .. He wanted to DIE .. Because he felt a lot of remorse to kill his beloved the way he did.Don't judge him too fast.

I'd rather not be told exactly what this is, but how do I go about seeing it? This is the first I've heard of such a prank.cutieyum wrote...
Zev is funny, relaxed, great fighter (if you know how to play rogue). Of all the companions, I found him to be the most agreeable. He doesn't pick fights with others, except for the group prank on Morrigan..
My only real problem with Zevran is that he *doesn't start out with lockpicking* - despite that being one of the things he claims to be skilled at - which is really, really annoying. I wish the game had just let us spec all NPCs from the ground up when we received them, regardless of level.

I understand and on ocassion agree with second chances, but he is an assassin...
He TRIED to kill you and you want him to join you so he can poison your food (as Morrigan so obviously pointed out) and slit your throat as you slumber ...really?
He could have told you any sob story to get you to feel bad about him, and take him in like a 'cast-off' puppy to gain your sympathy and trust for a second attempt. Friends close, enemies closer sound familiar to you?
Oh, and Sten... yea i'd pick him RIGHT up....

Hah. You're making me wish that he had just come back to life if you chose to slit his throat. The Angry One wrote...
I like Zev. He reminds me of Jack Harkness from Doctor Who. No, not just because he'll have sex with anyone that breathes; his irreverent adventuruous and fun attitude is similar too.
Though, it's funny, since despite having not considered that comparison before... I was planning on embarking on a Mage playthrough in which the protagonist will be "The Doctor in Ferelden". Except he gets people to call him "The Warden".
I guess Zev is going to be one of his more frequent companions, now.

Yaaa, that was one of my favorite parts of Mass Effect. You were given x number of skills and whatnot to level the character when you got them.Ulicus wrote...

This damn game is to immersing.
Because he's an assassin that Loghain hired to kill you and Allistair. That says something about his talent. He's an assassin, and he's probably the most sought after assassin. The dialogue options give you the answer. You're in desperate need of allies who can kill things and here this one guy comes, ready made, willing to help if you will spare his life.
The one part Bioware screwed up on was not offering a dialogue option where I can pay him more money that he makes in the Crows when he turns on you. I mean, I hadn't talked to the guy at all, so it wasn't all that surprising to me when he turned on me, but come on. I believed him when he said he wasn't loyal to the Crows. He's a hired hand. Why can't I just simply offer him more to help defend my life? It would make sense. And at that point in the game I was sitting on 90 sovereigns so something tells me I could afford whatever his asking price could possibly be. I mean screw it, where was the dialogue option, "don't be stupid Zevran. You've seen how skilled I am. I'll give you 20 sovereigns to help me dispose of this idiot and if you help me get rid of the Archdemon I'll help make sure the Crows have a new leader in a year."

Given an opportunity to make good with the Crows without any particular reason to be loyal to you, he'd take it, money isn't the issue.

Ehhh, why not? So what? You're mission is not to spread sunshine and peace. You have to kill things, and people, and frankly, you need all the help you can get. Zev is pretty good at killing things. And if your character is competant and smart enough, it's unlikely the threat of Zevran succeeding in a second attempt is a big one.
I'm not gonna hold it against someone if they try to kill me, as long as they have a good reason. Getting paid to commit suicide is as good a reason as any.

Zevran tells you that he does not receive any payment personally to assassinate you. I'm not sure if this is the way the Crows normally operate, but Zevran would only receive benefits from the Crows, not from Loghain directly.nuculerman wrote...

Alas:
1) I'm English, so I don't use that currency
2) I'm English, so stuff is more expensive here
3) I'm a student, which makes me poor (more so, since I went on to postgrad)
4) I'm incapable of building my own PC
I think 4 is the biggest problem. That'd instantly make everything cheaper.
It's probably not as hard for me to manage as I'm making out, granted, but it'd take more effort than I can be bothered with.
