So lately Wynn and Morrigan have been using their 2ndary weapons despite having enuff (and sometimes full) mana...why? I have tactics set up as healer & damage(?) respectively, but I am frequently having to contol them and change their "weapon of choice"

Setting their tactics to "ranged" should solve the problem.

what peeker said. but I usually don't give them secondary weapons at all, since I find it completely useless (unless you want to make space in your inventory)...



staves are the only good weapons for mages (assuming they are not Arcane Warriors)

Thanks for the responses...set to ranged: will do...remove secondary weapons: Will do (hate managing the damn inventory...need bag space)

...CommandoShepard, I am interested in the line  I quoted above. The only way I can get everyone on the SAME target as me (tanking) is to "Select Entire Party" and attack. But this has the side effect of causing Wynn to not heal as set up. Am I missing something in the Tactics drop menus that tells the Party to attack what I'm attacking?

Just set a tactic Enemy-->Target of [Tank]-->Attack.

Get the camp chest mod if you don't have the DLC. Mages don't need a secondary weapon if they aren't AW.



xer0h, party members that are selected will not use their tactics. So if you have the entire party selected, nobody will do anything unless you say so. Either set a tactic like above, or tell everyone to attack and then immediately go back to controlling your PC (or at least not Wynne).

is it just me or is Shale a beast of a tank? I don't really like the character all that much, but it's hard to take him out. And I kinda miss have Leliana picking locks for me...

Shale is a very good tank, but she's also female.

no kiddin'...now that you mention it the whole "do these make me look wider" comment makes sense now...funny.



Do they cover that and I missed it, or is it just common knowledge?

Any Warrior can be a good tank, except maybe Oghren depending on how long you wait to pick him up. Shale is good, but you can do without her. The only time I used her was for her companion quest and against the High Dragon (since she basically makes that entire fight trivially easy due to her natural immunities to certain things and easy to get ridiculously high fire resistance).
