How great would it be to have an MMORPG set in the Mass Effect Universe?

Living in or visiting the Citadel, Omega, the Migrant Fleet, etc.

Playing as a Krogan, Asari, Turian, Salarian, Quarian, Volus, Hanar, etc.

Specializing in classes just like Soldier, Infiltrator, Adept, Vanguard, Sentinel, Engineer.

Thoughts?

I just want a game, single or multiplayer, where I play a Turian.

... Mass Effect: C-Sec Outcast I: The Story of Garrus Vakarian.

There's The Old Republic, where even the setting is similar, except there's no effective melee fighting in Mass Effect. No need for another Bioware MMO, their resources are put to a better use if they do in what they are the best in the industry: story-driven singleplayer games.

(what's up with all the MMO-mania, anyway? Dragon Age MMO, Mass Effect MMO...you guys creep me out)

I've always wanted to be a Volus, even before Mass Effect came out.

Maybe I just love Mass Effect too much. *Sigh*

Most MMO players wanna do raids and repetitive fetch quests.

Bioware's already developing TOR, so an ME mmo is not happening for a very long time.

Way to burst my bubble, community. I'll just back to squeezing into a midget's environmental suit and pretending I'm Volus.

That must be it. :)

Wouldn't it be wonderful to see all the EliteShep1999's fighting for the lewtz?
Heh, this reminds me...: http://www.noobz-onl...stom-made-hero/ :P

You people would want an MMO of anything. If someone suggested a Princess Maker MMO, you'd start jerking off crazily.

I could swear i've seen the MMO card being played in almost every videogame forum i've been on.

I don't understand the appeal of those games myself.

That's not true; I only want an MMO about things I like. I wouldn't want an MMO about you, for example.

I thought a Mass Effect MMO would be interesting for social networking. This, but with walking, talking avatars.

Nooo, you are stuck with the regular Earth-clan version of socializing, my Volus friend.

I wouldn't say MMO but definitely Multiplayer:

> Custom ships - Ok, the Normandy is sweet and ultimately the end goal but an old cargo frigate with ****y parts that need constant maintnance with a small crew (Hand picked) for starters.

> Custom jobs or careers - Soldier, Adept, bla bla bla, second jobs like technician, cook, pirate...

> Teaming up - 5 to 8 players tops to accomplish missions/ side quests/ etc...

> Space battle gameplay - PvE mostly I'm thinking

> Zero-grave system - Imagine fighthing a horde of space pirates, guns blazing in ZERO-G outside the Normandy. One mistake and the great vastness of space takes you.

> Massive lobbies (Citadel) where you can meet up to 100 players perhaps but once your party his formed (4 or 5 tops) you leave for your own instance/ server/ quest/ whatever.

> Share information, coordinates, claim planets or parts of them with probes

> Find alien tech or wormholes, new systems, etc...

There's definitely potential there. Lets see how they do with SWTOR first tho before talking of MMOs.

Mass Effect would make a great MMOFPS imho. The current game wont work as one, but Im sure Bioware would be up to it if they ever decided to do so.
