I don't recall Krogan females being rare just FERTILE females being rare. Thus staying on their homeworld. Could be wrong, could have just read codex wrong or the codex might also be in error. Regardless the only one have developed reason for not showing females is Salarian.



Also apparently on Fornax it shows a female Hanar. Just throwing that out there.

Thats an assumption.  in the codex it said Fornax displays both males and females.  So that hanar on the cover could be a dude.

There is a point in Mordin's Loyalty quest where you "see" a female Krogan. She's covered up by a sheet (she's dead) and you the player are unable to see her. Based on the size however, the female Krogan apears to be signifigantly smaller than the other Krogan you've come across. This seems to imply that female Krogan are either smaller than males, or this female Krogan was seriously mutilated. I would personally suspect that female Krogan look much like the males but withouth the humps.
