Me and my boyfriend bought the special edition of Mass effect 2, and I activated the cerberus network code though my account. But now it seems he cant access the Cerberus network or the DLC though his own account (same Xbox)! Is the cerberus network DLC account related? I thought it would be Xbox related so that all accounts registered to that xbox could use it.
Anyone have the same problem and know how to fix it?

I already tried calling EA support, but they were no help at all! I dont think they even really knew what the cerberus network was or what I was talking about!

These DLC special thingies are all very nice but why do they always make it so damn complicated! :(

Guess what, I've had the same problem with 2 EA-accounts. My redeem code was activated on the wrong EA-account / my gamertag is connected to the wrong one. Already sent 4 e-mails to customer support at EA. I just got answers that didn't have anything to do with my questions. No help at all indeed.

It sure is way to complicated. Why couldn't these codes be activated ingame or via xboxlive?

The game itself is awesome!

Due to the DLC items being tied to your gamertag AND your EA account, they cannot be shared with other gamertags on your 360 like normal DLC. He will need another code or use 1200 points to get the Cerberus network for himself.

Bah! I was afraid of that!

He could indeed get the Cerberus network for himself, but won't that be different DLC than the Special edition? In other words; does the Special edition DLC differ from the DLC you get when you 'purchase' the cerberus network? Or is there no difference in that? I hope not...

Yeah, the CE armour and weapon are separate and not likely to be available later on, though it's not impossible. There have been people posting codes for Terminus and Inferno, but not many for Collector.

But the collectors armour is on a different promo code, its not the same code as for the cerberus network. And I havent hear anything about Terminus or Inferno armour! Are those availble through the DLC or do you also need a separate code for that?

(Thanks for all the help btw ^_^; )

Collector, Terminus and Inferno are separate pre-order codes that were available from different retailers. Terminus (armour/weapon) and Inferno (armour only) will probably become available later but only through the Cerberus Network.

does this affect if it's linked to your email not your gamertag?

It needs to be linked to an EA account AND gamertag. If you make a mistake and link the wrong gamertag or EA account , there doesn't seem to be any easy way to change it, if at all. The EA account email doesn't have to be the same as your gamertag email. You just need to make sure that when you link them, you use the right email for the EA account.

If you haven't linked your EA account to your gamertag, you should still be fine.

Ah ok! Those pre-order codes were probably only for US then. I'm in the Netherlands and we didn't get any special pre-order offers like that (too bad). Just the Collector armour & weapon. Anyway I do hope that they do become availeble then later on through DLC.

Wait wait wait wait.

Me and my brother have 2 accounts. 1 cerberus code.

You're saying that only one of us can use the Cererus Network's DLCs?

Yes, it's a ripoff monopoly strategy.

Just bought another redeem code via Marktplaats (dutch Ebay) for the collector gear. Guess I'm gonna activate it on both my EA-accounts. Just missing the Inferno-armor now.

There are so many ways to screw these special items up, I guess 10% of the gamers that actually bought special DLC are able to really use them.

They're expecting you to spend extra 1200 M$ points to be able to use what you're already payed.

This is just crazy, I should have never bought this game on day-one. But I'll never be fooled again.

If you both use the same EA account everything should be fine, that is what me and my son are doing and we haven't had a problem with ME2 or DA:O. If you both have seperate EA accounts, looks like it is time for rock/paper/scissors.

Actually, my brother has an EA account with his gamertag linked...
I have this account but I only use it for this forum. I've never played an online EA game (the 2 only EA games I have are ME2 and Mirror's Edge), so never created one.

So... forgive me, but can I link two gamertags to the same EA account, and use everything just fine?

*sigh*
so much trouble... EA, Bioware, I'm starting to hate you.

What? No.

I have the Cerberus Network, Terminus/Inferno/Collector/Blood Dragon armors, NCS, Zaeed, and all 3 Dr. Pepper items attached to my EA account and gamertag.

My wife can access all of those DLC items on her gamertag (NOT attached to my EA account). Sure, she can't actually 'log into the Cerberus Network' on the login screen, but that doesn't really mean anything anyways, other than that I have access to the free DLC, and I have to download it first for her to be able to use it.

I've noticed the same as trickfred. I have let my wife use all the codes, and all the DLC is there for me, but I don't have access to the Cerberus Network itself. Kind of lame, but not a game breaker for me.

Now I wish I could have my Shepard on these forums. ;P

I confirm this! We just tested it out and my boyfriend can also access the DLC that I downloaded trough my cerberus network. He has a different gamertag and a different EA account, but we play the game on the same Xbox. Like Trickfred said; Only I have access to cerberus network, but once I download the DLC my boyfriend can use it too.

Phew! Still too much drama for a simpel DLC download =P Luckily the game still rocks!

Hope this info will help others too!
