I talked one of my coworkers into buying it, but it really wasn't a challenge.

"So, have you heard of Dragon Age? It's a fantasy RPG from BioWare that...."

"BioWare!? I'm so THERE!"

I showed him the gameplay movie I was gonna show him, but just wasn't the same since I couldn't do the whole spiel. ;)

I've actually talked about it just about any time I go out to a bar. I'm beginning to suspect that people are tired of hearing about how excited I am about DA:O and how I can't wait for it to come out.

I'm just wondering where you can talk about Dragon Age in a bar and not have people look at you like you grew a third arm.

Let your friend(s) come over and play for a couple hours and then make some excuse in why they have to leave. When they ask if they can play the game again, tell them you broke your copy of the game.

I've tried to get my brother sold on this (and some additional friends) but they are all like;

"meh, a single player.. booring!" :(

I the only one in my group of friends who likes single player games (esp. anything from Bioware)

I heard there is no multiplayer for it. Without multiplayer its hard to convince any of my friends...
Once the Darkworld mod comes out I shoud have no problem though :)

Have had a similar experience with a handful of my friends who are turned off with the whole "boring, single-player game."

Conversely, a few of my hardcore mmo friends are so sick of the mmo treadmill (like myself) that I got them as excited as me about release.

I get similiar responses, but honestly if they actually do try that crap I will just buy a copy for them. I'll get my money back by weasling out of paying for dinners/movies. =P

2 friends here, hoping a 3rd will fall soon now that it is being released on steam.

most of my closer friends either aren't gamers or are less about role-playing games and more about first person shooters. So, I've tried but I don't think it's going to happen. I am going to force my girlfriend to play it! Because it is awesome.

Since I've been talking about it nonstop for a month now. Both my boyfriend and my dad have decided to preorder the collector edition. It help a little that they're both ancient D&D player and rabid gamer.

I told a friend about the game about 4 months ago, and he is now more obsessed about it than I am (and that is saying a lot!) Image IPB

Got my boyfriend convinced to play it, but he liked bioware even before this, so it wasn't hard. I have a feeling he'll always love Mass Effect more, but that's okay.

I mentioned the game to a few friends, and three of them (a married couple and a single) were really taken by it especially after I linked them my favourite trailer, the one Bioware then decided to use in the Character Creator. They like what they have been reading about the lore and the setting, and downloaded the CC tool now too. I think that's two more copies sold. The husband of the couple cursed me for roping him into another game since they have quite a few unplayed ones on the backburner still, due to busy RL, but they'll get Dragon Age anyway.

It helps that many of my gamer friends enjoy single-player CPGs, and many have loved previous Bioware games too, they just haven't been keeping up with the latest projects.

Yes, I did. One of my oldest friends, actually. Mainly from just gushing about the game and the fact I also got her hooked on Mass Effect as well. I'm slowly turning her into a Bioware nerd, mwahahaha....

I don't know anybody that would be interested and isn't already going to get it. You either like it already, or you won't like it, is my experience.

But you also have those that would like it, but don't pay attention to upcoming releases.  I have a couple friends that will probably get this game--they were pretty much sold after "BioWare's new RPG."  They like the games just don't pay attention to game news.

Others have told me to tell them if its good after I play it.

A very good friend of mine will buy the game as well, after I've been adoring DA:O for some time now, and we both "geek" over the game every time we see each other *laughes*
I might have interested a few colleagues as well... I can't stop drawing the characters, and when somebody looks through my sketchbook and asks about them I kind of end up summarizing the whole game for them. Haha!
