I tried to convince them by fangirling over it at any available opportunity, but that wasn't working so I burned them each a disk with the trailers that would most appeal to them. Now they're hooked! I'll be giving them disks with the character creator on monday, since they're horrible with keeping up with updates.
Have you convinced a friend into buying Dragon Age?

I've converted a total of five people so far, two of which are buying collectors editions and one of which is getting it for both PC and PS3.

Convinced both my sisters to play it, and a friend has taken somewhat of a interest when i explained some of the game to him.

hmm..I told about DA:O a lot of my friends. I sent them link to BioWare forum and interesting videos. Plus we have still a lot of talks about games ( and about DA:O of course too). Some of them will probably play DA:O, but a lot of ppl aren't interesting in classic RPG ( including my husband). They just prefer more action oriented games, shooters and MMO games.

I did. He just played bad RPGs most of the time, and I managed to convince him to try dragon age, so he will propably learn how awesome RPGs can be.

I don't tell people what to get or what to play - but I hope my excitement has influenced a few of my friends into contemplating getting DA.

Yep. She had virtually no experience with RPGs until I began to talk her ear off, and somehow I actually managed to have her as excited as I am for this game. She's even around here by now. It's possible that both my brother and sister end up corrupted by my advertising as well. What can I say, it's going to be an awesome game.

I was able to convince 2 friends but all the others ignore me. Ah well, they will be the ones missing this awesome game.

I've managed to get two of my friends to preorder the game for PC.
I think I've talked my brother into getting it for 360, we'll see.
But hey, I still have time, the day is still young and I have more friends to persuade!

I convinced at least 2 friends and 2 of my clients (3 if you count that one of the client as a husband who now will not shut up about the game)

Yes, yes I have. I think two, maybe three friends plus my brother. I keep blabbering about it all the time, I'm surprised they haven't gone crazy yet!

Exactly, but I guess maybe by proxy I have gotten people to buy this game by showing them a trailer?Shensi wrote...

I keep hearing that people think the graphics look dated. So they're not Crysis 2 or something like that, seriously, a game could still be fun. Like a developer stated in the DA forums earlier, when you're immersed in the game, and see all the graphics in motion mixed with the sfx, music and plot, it all sort of melts together nicely.

one of my friends also likes these kind of games, but i think hell first play MW2 a lot, I might lend it to him when ME2 comes out.

None of my friends ever heard of it and can only know Oblivion as a comparison.

I've been clamoring almost nonstop about it to my boyfriend for the past couple months, and he seems pretty excited about it. He liked Morrowind/Oblivion, and I think he'll like a lot of things about this game. Although, he's a little upset because he wants an all-warrior party (none of those sissy roges and mages) which is going to make the game rather complicated I think.
I also planted the seed for my other friend, who liked ME a lot...

Have anyone else taken the opportunity to spread the word? This thread already shows how powerful 'word of mouth' really is.

Just my brother and he didn't take much convincing. That's it though, I'm a tad cloistered these days.

I convinced a guy I met at Barnes and Noble to buy it, lol. He may have been humoring me to get in my pants, but he seemed sincere >.>
