I made a Shepherd who deliberately left Garrus behind on Citadel, refusing to recruit him, just to see how it'd effect ME2 (well that wasn't the only reason I made the character, I played around with some other variables too) and was disapointed to find that... it didn't. no witty "oh now I'm good enough to be on your team?" from Garrus, just both Garrus and Shep acting as if they're old friends who went through hell together
but that got me to thinking, what else would've been nice to see carry over?

the gambler from Flux who tried to hack the machines. could've turned up on Omega either having made a tidy profit from his invention or maybe in C-Sec after being caught with another failed version
disconecting the Council in post-mission reports. would've been hilarious if (assuming they survived) when you talk to them with Anderson they disconect you half way through in revenge
