I hear so much about the advantages of the PC version and the negatives of the 360 version, but I don't think my PC really has the specs to run the game effectively.

I'd been waiting for DA for ages because I wanted something that was more reminiscent of Baldur's Gate in feel, but is the 360 version really up to scratch?

I have the PS3 version and I love it. Not that I wouldn't love the PC version more, but I can't run it. The combat is, from what I've heard, a little clunkier on the consoles (in that it's a little more difficult to run your whole party), but on the whole it's still a great game. Not sure about any differences between PS3 and Xbox.

I play on Xbox mate. Ive heard all the nay-saying about the console versions, but to be honest, it's amazing. The only draw-back is no Toolset/mods. Sad face.

Yes the 360 version is worth it.

I own both and to be honest the differences between them aren't huge. Of course the PC incarnation is a little sharper but then I'd expect it to be but the 360 version holds up very well.

The only thing I miss when playing on the 360 is being able to change the view point, which makes managing battles a bit easier, and the aforementioned mods.

I would personally choose the PC, but since you don't think your system will handle it, get the 360 version. Playing DA is better than NOT playing DA, no matter what.

Everyone is right on here; If your PC cannot run this game at a moderate level you'll enjoy it more on the Xbox. I have the PC version but I was watching a friend play the 360 version and it reminded me a lot of KOTOR and Jade Empire, where the PC version reminded me a bit of Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights. In any case this isn't a game based around its' technical prowess, it's about story and gameplay and it's got both of those nailed no matter what system you play.

I'm with the rest of the posters, it's well worth it!

The only thing I really miss on my Xbox version is a "move" command. You have to manually move your companions if you want them to go anywhere specific (ie move a rogue in backstab position etc).

The graphics is better on PC, but they're still on par on Xbox. There's some irritating glitches on console, like the poison/trap-radial menu bug, that still haven't been fixed, but nothing game breaking.

I prefer the pc version twice as much as my 360 version to be honest. It gives it more of a party feel instead of, you only play one character at a time, feel. Plus the UI is so much niftier to use. The only thing about the 360 I liked more is the ability to mass dump your inventory quickly :)

The 360 version is nearly as good as the PC version. It's unfairly bashed here, I think, because of some invented PC/Console rivalry that assumes everyone playing on a console is a Halo tween who wants to go back in time and destroy Baldur's Gate . Really the only advantages, in my opinion, are the mouse-driven interface (including top-down view), somewhat better graphics (don't care: they're both better than Fallout and Torment, and I still play those), and a few little flourishes like larger battles and more allies in a few those battles (nice, but not a big deal).

Really my only gripe about the console versions is that we haven't seen any patch support yet.

Oh, and this.

The console version is worth it only if you really cannot run the PC one.

The game in itself is worth it, but the console version has a clunkier control scheme, a much less functional wheel menu instead of the hotbar, less enemies on screen due to hardware limitations and no tactical camera view.

I have the 360 version and have had no problems with it. As everyone else has said, if you aren't sure your PC can run it, get it for the console. Like someone else said, kind of reminds me of KOTOR in the way it plays. (Though the combat is far less annoying in DA than it is in KOTOR, IMO)

if you post your pc specs we might be able to tell you if your system is up to the task.

Playing the XBox version is a lot cheaper than upgrading my PC -- so it's good value even if the price of the game itself is the same on the two platforms.

I'm delighted to have some way to play the game, and I'm having a blast despite my jealousy of the patches, improved camera, and easy modding of the PC version.
