When I first got this game, I was like many people and upset that I couldn't use my DLC that came with the game offline. I travel A LOT for my job, and PC games are the only things that really keep me sane and out of trouble while I'm abroad. It became such of mix of hate of not being able to play it in 3/5ths of my destinations, and love of the actual gameplay of Dragon Age, that I almost pirated a game I already owned just so I could play it.
Then I found a solution. Someone pointed out in one of the many "DLC doesn't work offline" threads that there's a file somewhere where you can simply change a 1 to a 0 and it will stop asking you to sign in to confirm DLC. It was like a "...registration=1" command line or something. So I did that, no longer had to sign in, and was able to enjoy my game 150% more often.
Well, like an idiot, I just downloaded Return to Ostagar. I'm not going to get into what I think of it, but now I'm having the same problem, and I can't find the original thread that gave the very basic command of what file to open in Notebook and where to look. I've spend almost an hour now looking through different files and places online, and it seems that here in Switzlerland all Google returns of "Dragon Age DLC Offline PC" are of Mass Effect 2 DLC problems or how to get it to work on the 360. Super.
For the record, I have read the 'Unofficial DLC guide' and I'm very, very, very, very positive my cd key is registered. That's one very for each time I've actually checked.
I'd also like to ask if there's an actual SEARCH feature anywhere on social.bioware.com, as I've yet to find it, and I feel like it's somewhere obvious I should see.
Thanks for any and all help. I got internet today, but Saturday I'm heading up to the Alps. Beautiful, but cold, and I really want to be able to play Dragon Age offline - again.

Well, as long as you go online once with the game and let the game validate the content, you're OK. Because then you can play offline after that (mind that all should say 'validated' after a few minutes online, otherwise you're still screwed)

Thanks, but... that's not really the problem I'm having. From what I understand, there is some problem with the DLC that comes with the game. When you download it and it's validated, for some reason the variable that says it's validated and doesn't need to be validated again doesn't switch from 1 (need to be validated) to 0 (already validated). Therefore, it has to be done manually, by searching through the various files in the system and opening them with Notepad to manually change the values. What I'm looking for is what that file is. For the life of me, I can't find it again.
Apparently, this same problem now applies to Return to Ostagar. I can't find that file again, and now every time I want to play I have to be online, just because my save has some mediocre armor that I have no need for from a very short DLC. It's maddening.

Try looking in My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\Addins.xml.

Ha! Found it!
It's under My Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings.
Thanks, Kepha!
Open the AddIns file using Notepad, and search for [RequiresAuthorization="1"] without brackets.
Change that 1 to a 0, and you don't have to be online to play the game anymore. Finally. I'm glad I found that again. Thanks all for the help.
