*Totally lead here by Kotaku, only to realize that I posted here five months ago*

I really don't see the connection between Klencory and the Catalyst; he's just as stupid as he was before.

Exactly.  There are two endings I wouldn't like for ME 3.  One being a random GOD LIKE force that saves the Galaxy or another being that to defeat the Reapers, everyone has to become a primitivst and destroy the Relays, Citadel, etc.  Both would make me pretty unhappy as those endings have been done to death.

Oh snap, cause that's exactly what you got.

I can't believe that somebody accurately predicted ME3's crappy ending two years prior to it's release. This is downright scary!

It's amazing and sad that this came true. Mass Effect 3 broke my gaming heart. It really did.

Klencory is famously claimed by the eccentric volus
billionaire Kumun Shol. He claims that a vision of a higher being told
him to seek on Klencory the "lost crypts of beings of light." These
entities were supposedly created at the dawn of time to protect organic
life from synthetic "machine devils."

Do you think this ancients "beigns" will play a role in ME3? I sure hopse so, that would be awesome, ofcourse some people who have seen this too much (maybe star trek fans? i heard one guy saying such a thing) wont like this idea maybe, i know it would be pretty awesome since then it means that the reapers are the devil like ones while the other ancient ones are sealed and are he ones who can really help shepard against the reapers without costing too much death in the coming war .

What have you done? You've doomed us all! :pinched:

First this, then this:

I think ME3 writers got really disturbeded by your lack of faith in them and decided to show what damage they can do. Sorry but you brought it upon yourself (and upon everyone else as well:?)

j/k I'd actually love to see screwoffreg's reaction now

edit, here it is:

screwoffreg Screwoffregjr is my
new account...I am not happy that I predicted the endings lol

've been fairly quiet on this for some time but considering what I've been seeing on the Forums, the Mass Effect Community is floating dangerously close to http://tvtropes.org/...dAudienceApathy  in reaction to the end of Mass Effect 3, and BioWare/EA is going to need to handle this very carefully, unless they are wanting to commit Franchise Suicide.

If so, Hey more power to you, but let me get the steak on the grill while I watch.

The reason for what we've gotten is because Sci-FI has darkened over the last few decades into a rather annoying morass of gibberish that tried to pass itself off as 'edgy' and 'hip', when really it's pretty much following the same corrupt formula that bled it'sway into Sci-fi since "Capricorn One".

Mass Effect 1 was pretty much this
http://tvtropes.org/...TheHerosJourney  and a good time was had by all, And the mixture of Hero/Anti-Hero options for ME 1 made the game more interesting.

Mass Effect 2 changed things up a bit and darkened the setting by making Shepard a questionable sort (from everyone else's POV) by working with Cerberus and let's be honest, some real questionable sorts. Fine storytelling there with no issues from me.

Mass Effect 3 was a fairly brutal story, but let's face it with Galactic extinction pending, people were going to be lost along the way. Which is also fine. Where it falls down is with this http://tvtropes.org/...denDownerEnding

Really? I mean, it's not like the Dark Ending isn't uncommon these days on TV, Films, or other forms of media. We suffered through such gibberish with Star Wars (and a poorly handled thing that was), Blake's 7, the New Battlestar Galactica, Remake of This Island Earth, Star Trek: Nemesis. I mean the Dark and Sudden Twist ending is so over played these days, that I come to expect it and have become rather bored by it.

Bright endings have been hounded into the far reaches by the 'Darker and Edgier' crowd over the last few decades and finding hope in any or story has become few and far between. Battle LA at least had hope in it in the end.

My point of this long rant is that I had kinda seen this coming as well back in ME1, but hoped BW wouldn't be as uncreative as it turned out. Disappointing, but what can you do?

well you could do this

Congrats Bioware. You've been troped

http://tvtropes.org/...ruelTwistEnding

Mass Effect 3's ending provides either that the vast majority of sapient organic life everywhere is totally wiped out (every major planet is in ruins, with no possibility of ever reuniting the galaxy) or blasted back in to the stone age (as seen in the stargazer epilogue or that sapient organic life no longer even exists (if you choose synthesis). Next to no foreshadowing was given for these endings, and the rather confusing execution, combined with the problems mentioned here makes for a Gainax Ending to rival the infamous pseudo-Trope Name
