Two Things you like best about ME2 and two you like least.

1: Armor customization - Although a bit flawed, I still think it's a nice addition. Wouldn't mind an improved version later on via DLC, patch or whatever.
2: Characters - I'd be lying if I said I didn't consider this one of the best things about the game. The characters are very enjoyable and well done.
Worst -
1: Severly limited weaponry - I liked ME1's fairly large selection of weapons, even if the majority were just the same models with new coloring. At least it had a better variety as opposed to ME2's armory.
2: The new combat system - Don't get me wrong, it's still a nice change and I try my best to enjoy it. But, it feels a bit flawed sometimes. Even on casual, the combat can be challenging if one does not pay attention. I understand why it is so, but it can feel a bit frustrating when your shields are ripped to shreds and your ammo running out in a matter of seconds, especially if it's against some of the easier opponents.

1.) Characters (Miranda, Legion, Grunt, Jack, etc) & story
2.) MUCH improved combat and gameplay
Least:
1.) Mining (it was fun at first, now a chore)
2.) Wish romances had more dialogue and interaction

- Combat is smooth, love cover-mechanic based combat, it's far cooler than Halo/COD style shooting.
- Linear & Smaller Levels, allow Bioware to add more worlds, that felt like real living places, and story telling was much more profound.
- Dialog, and easedropping dialog, was fantastic, and great writing i should add as well. When your on Illium and on the Citadel the world really truly feels alive.
Deslikes:
- No Tali Face, Love Love Love the fact they allowed us to romance her, was greatly disapointed in not being able to see her face. pulled me out of the game, and made me just another person watching a cut scene. Here's hoping to ME3.
[*]Mining Scanner could be faster, didn't mind the minigame really, it just seemed the scanner took forever to get across the planet, even with the upgrade. That's really it...
The heat clips, and weapon ammo took some getting used to but i could easily get over that.
I think they found the perfect balance of gameplay mechanics from Mass Effect 2, and i hope they can carry that over in Mass Effect 3 so that they can focus on level design and story telling in the finale.
If your Tali lives, i wanna continue the relationship as well as hopefully see her face.

2.) The option to have a really great ending.
Disliked:
1.) The graphics tearing
2.) Thane's illness <_<

1. Legion
2. the heatsink reload system.
Worst:
1. Not having a wheeled rover anymore
2. People who complain about not having unlimited ammo liek in ME1.

- The voice acting and characters
- The classes are *vastly* improved
- The improved gfx and frame rate
- The games longevity
- Character interactions (well written and engaging)
- The story.
- Combat.
- Paragon / Renegade Interrupt system
Dislike:
- Cannot turn off tutorial style messages which completely obscure your combat GUI.
- Loading times.
- The new research/mission obj ticker in bottom right of screen is way too big.
- N7 missions yet again feel like a design afterthought.
- The bugs I have found (floating over/up things, Jacks loyalty mission etc.)
- The in-game GUI's.
- Not being able to increase special training aboard collector ship on NG+'s
- The 'new look' citadel area. It's tiny considering the Citadel is probably the largest construction in the galaxy.
- The merchants system of selling selling completely random stuff. Want to see specialist stores.
- Party character interactions in and out of combat (too few of them).
- Sorry, not a fan of the planet scanning. I have a ship and a crew. "EDI, scan that system for resources and tell me what you find" "Yes Cmdr. Shepherd".
- There's not enough credits available in game to buy everything from the stores.

1.) Writing. Amazing job.
2.) Combat: just fun!
Worst:
1.) Need more exploration (side missions)
2.) More interaction between squadmates during the missions. I remember taking Jacob with me on Tali's loyalty mission. He never said a damn thing the entire time. Not once. I don't need much, but something would be nice.

1. Locations/atmosphere
I really loved the look, feel and sound of all areas we got to explore.
Be it Omega, illium, revisiting the citadel, the derelict reaper and the collector ship/base, even the small n7 mission locations, i can see alot work went into making the areas interesting.
2. the squadmembers and their stories
3. Revamped combat, pleasantly surprised how well it works.
Dislike
1. I can live with the loss of the classic inventory system, and i really like the idea of scanning weapons and armor of dead enemies and researching upgrades, but i was disappointed in how simplistic they made it. Also miss the ability to customize squad member armor, if i could customize squad armor like shephards, that would be great.
2. Immersion-breaking stuff like the mission complete screen and the silly endboss

1. My homeboy Garrus
2. The voice acting (can't stress this enough)
Worst:
1. N7 missions
2. People recognize you through helmets.

- The writing. Dialogue, story, everything. With this game, BioWare has proven to me that they have the best writers in the industry. The best.
- Superior level design. Gone are the cookie-cutter side missions of ME1, with the same buildings over and over again. Every mission now is original and immersive. I only wish that there were more of them.
Dislike:
- Sniping. The new ammo system gives my sniper hardly any shots to work with, and the new steady reticule (combined with the time slowdown) makes those few shots so easy that it's kind of boring. I liked the challenge of controlling that crazy reticule, and getting plenty of shots to screw up.
- Lack of customization compared to the first. It seems like I have hardly any weapons/armor now. I didn't like that the weapons in ME1 had such a linear hierarchy (one better in every way than the one previous), but this isn't the way I would've changed it. I wish they wold've simply made the items more different rather than eliminating them altogether.

Worst: No citadel (a la ME1) and planet scanning.
#39
Posté 04 février 2010 - 06:29
1. Characters - big improvement here, and the 2 best ME1 squadmates returned! double-win! the characters were really cool and their stories were well done if a little brief. 4 times as much interaction with crew would have been great, but what little content was there was really really cool.
2. Connection to ME1 - bioware did a good job (for the most part) of having old NPCs return. emails were lame but the actual "talking" NPCs were awesome. Shiara (ME3 romance, and Femshepable!), Nassana, Parasini, etc. really cool, they were easily my favorite parts of the game.
The Worst:
1. Romances (or lack thereof) - Tali was awesome, but Femsheps got the shaft big time. Jack is ok too i suppose, but not enough romances (especially for Femshep). Also, the old model of "Talk to you're LI 3 times & hump before the final mission" is well......old. Is this it Bioware? never going to evolve to the next level with Squad/LI Interaction? Dragon Age was a step in the right direction (sort of) in terms of sheer content and the fact that you could sleep with your LI over and over (and that was before the final love scene). but more importantly there was "depth" to your LI interactions and lots of dialogue around every corner. your relationships "evolved" and felt more believable. ME2 kinda took the cookie-cutter approach to Romances.
2. Return to the Citadel - What the F? whether or not you saved the council, who you suggested join the council.....these were supposed to be some of the big decisions, right? the return to the Citadel was something i was really looking forward to and was utterly dissapointed by the lack of content. you have a brief run-in with the council and Anderson/Udina in an office and that's it. no exploring old sites, seeing keepers repair, seeing who survived/who died, nothing! nada! zilch! Epic Fail.

least: planet scanning, and a lack of conversation a la the elevators in ME1 (not saying I miss the elevator rides, just the elevator banter)

1) Tali romance
2) I found the combat to be a lot more fun and the classes and their unique powers were interesting
Least
1) The way Liara and reuniting with her was handled, especially if she is your LI, easily the biggest letdown of the game
2) Miranda and SuZe were fairly shallow, there were no twists or turns in their stories, they are straight up what they were always presented as, a psycho and a loyalist

-Really like the Cover Mechanic and the Fact that you had to use some Decent tactics and logical choices on the suicide run.
-Tali (No I didn't Romance her, but I liked her loyalty mission)
Dislikes:
- Planet scanning in general and Being unable to sell Resources to generate cash for buyable upgrades (Because after the ship (minus the medbay) and a few Weapon / tool / Biotic upgrades there's no motivation to do it anymore, If we could sell excess resources it would be a way to generate credits, kind of like how you got money for prospecting in ME1. It could be handled that you could only sell your excess resources on a hub world like Citadel / Omega / Illium.)
-The Suicide mission didn't really feel like one to me since everyone made it out for me. I liked that decision in ME 1 that you had to sacrifice someone to get the job done. It would have had a lot more impact that you knew you were going to send someone to their death and that you COULDN'T send a non loyal crew member to do it. Being a Leader is all about making the tough decisions and having everyone survive just kind of took out all the "Suicide" out of the mission. I was sweating bullets through the whole thing, especially with Tali in the Vents and I was busting butt getting to the gates to keep her safe. That was really the only tension to the whole last mission.

1) Brilliant characters and character development (looking at you Thane and Garrus)
2) Amazing voice acting
3) Customisation increase
4) Re-vamped combat I'm in love with
5) New Normandy
Dislikes:
1) TINY TEXT! can't explain how irritating this is.
2) Lack of RPG elements (inventory, loot etc.)
3) vague and overall disappointing story compared to ME2
4) Silly final boss fight
5) Simply awful ME1 LI cameos (Liara gave me the cold shoulder so I romanced Jack, would have stayed faithful if it was a more emotional meeting or even if she wasn't in the game at all)

1) Characters and the incredible depth they have
2) Soundtrack
Worst:
1) Not a good hub zone, just 4 smaller ones.
2) Paragon options = Romance options with NPCs, they should really be separate

1) Characters and their side stories
2) Combat feels sooo much better
Worst
1) Planet Scanning
2) The main story was interesting, but lackluster compared to the main story. Really, the entire main collector story isn't that much better than a single planet from Mass Effect 1.

1) ability to import your character from ME1
2) overall polish and story, and art/graphics (latter much better than ME1)
....maybe that's 4.
Worst (by no means deal breakers):
1) keymappings (although with a bit of remapping on the PC finally getting intuitive)
2) hacking terminals - maybe future playthoughts I'll get better at it, but for now PF5 is your friend...

1. Good Story.
2. The tactics while fighting.
Worst:
1. The lack of equipment
2. Not a whole lot of planets to explore, I miss the Mako. + I was expecting to revisit many of the locations that were in mass effect 1.

1- Tali
2- More specific class roles.
Least:
1- Not enough weapon choices. I would have liked something like Wing Commander 3, where you could customize your missile loadout.
2- The e-mail needed a reply button of some sort.
