THE CHILDREN

When the Blight pushed the darkspawn to the surface, human expeditions were able to venture deep underground for the first time in centuries, meeting very little resistance apart from stragglers. Then people started disappearing. Men would make camp and wake to find one of their number missing. Scouts left on missions, never to return. Search parties found no trace of the lost men, not even their bones. Some saw movements in the darkness, a shifting of shadows that torchlight would reveal as nothing. When a single warrior survived from one squad, he spoke of nothing comprehensible except grinning worm monsters that devoured his companions. The expeditions made haste back to the city.

Ok so we know the children are small and then can grow into the seemingly enormous size (like on the cover), almost like a broodmother of the children. Gonna love that overwhelm ability they have. I think that is the first video I have seen where the one companion in light armor is clearly backstabing and therefore a rogue without question. Anders makes yet another appearence and some nearly bald guy in red heavy armor is shown again.

Those sacks look an aweful lot like the stuff all over the Dead Trenches that, in theory, I thought were created by Branka in her process of creating the Brood Mother. What exactly was Branka dealing in???

Wow, nice and cute. Are they darkspawn or just some other non-Blight abomination? :D

Anyway, nice video - definitely creepy!

Branka had nothing to do with the broodmother other than she led and then abandoned her house to the darkspawn to find the anvil. You are right about how those sacks did appear in the dead trenches though. Whenever I see them, I always thought about the comparison between them and the demon corruption in the tower.

Yeah, I had noticed that too when running around the Tower.  And I thought Branka was responsible for the Brood Mother.  It always confused me since that Dwarf chick is very vague about the whole situation.

So up for speculation - where was the party in that video while fighting the children? Ruins, or is it possible that that was Vigil Keep itself, invaded by the Architect, who I am assuming is the one leaving you with the children?

My understanding was that Branka allowed the women in her house to become broodmothers by not resisting the darkspawn when they took them, so that she would have an endless supply of genlock fodder for Caridin's traps.  She was indirectly involved in the turning of Laryn and eventually Hespith into a broodmother.

So that's what the monsters under my bed look like. Time to change out my house slippers for armored boots! That being said, I must congratulate you Bioware for creating something even more icky and creepy than the brood mother.

Judging from the trailer it looks like they will be a timed opponent. When it first pops out they crawl, then they grow arms, legs and from there...

Anyone got a mod for dreadnought armor with power fist ?Posted Image

Well, I hope Santa won't forget the gift for these children, else we might have trouble under the tree.
