I think you have to keep the Anvil of the Void intact and then kill the Archdemon without the Dark Ritual.  Oghren will take your body to the Anvil and have Branka place you in a Venerable suit of destruction!  Or something

Hey all!

Definately my favourite video yet.

Creepy, gory and nasty = perfect.

Very interesting enemy. A few things worth noting about them.

1. We seem to be shown 3 basic types:
- Crawling Critter (12 second in)
- Medium Critter (19 seconds in)
- Bigger Critter (15 seconds in...maybe an Alpha?)

2. The last clip shows one of the baby critters killing someone and immediately transforming into a Medium Critter - this could be fantastic if they drop one of your PCs they immediately turn into a more powerful form! Kudos to Bioware if thats what happens.

3. I wonder if the Bigger Critter at 15 seconds is representative of the box art, of if thats an even bigger version? I'd love to see a boss version of that.

4. They look tough.

1. The Architect...NPC more than a monster
2. Spectral Dragon
3. Inferno Golem

The following have completely new ingame models

4. Floaty Mages with the big hats.
5. Sharlock Omega (?) the big dude in armour on the official Awakening page
6. The Children...tiny crawler

8. The Children...big leaper

My guess is that the broodmother shoots out these from... uhm, somewhere, and then they become some kind of... uhh... whatever. I am not good in Biology

Still, the bloody things do the same thing as wolves and spiders. I hate them already! I just hope they won't be like deepstalkers : in trailer, super strong and cool. In game? Not really...

Certainly its related.

I just thought of an interesting parallel, a 'High Dragon' is on the front silhouette of DAO, one of the 'Children' (we don't yet know what type) is on the front silhouette of Awakening. Both of those monsters have a progression in the game from infant to adult.

Dragon

Wyrmling = Normal
Drake = Lieutenant
Dragon = Boss
High Dragon = Elite Boss

Children

Crawling Critter = Normal?
Medium Critter = Lieutenant?
Big Critter = Boss?
? = Elite Boss?

Genlocks are from kidnapped female dwarves turned to broodmother
Shrieks are from kidnapped female elves turned to broodmother
Hurlocks are from kidnapped female humans etc
Ogres from kidnapped female qunari...etc

Although where they found the female qunaris I dunno...never seen one ingame yet.  

The codex mentions all this plus Hespith tells the story of how the progression happens to turn into broodmothers.
