I would like to have been able to bring along some of the origin companions as permanent companions after they're met in the main story. Gorim and Jowan are the two I would most like to be able to keep.

I agree, Gorim would have been an awesome second for the rest of the game. Or Jowan, I quite liked him, despite him being spineless.

Where do I start...

- I would like to tell the dwarfs to solve their own damn problems. If I had an alternative that allowed me to go into the deep roads and lure the darkspawn to Orzammar I'll do it. I hate them that much.

- Romance with Anora.... You know... use my charming "I want to get you know better" line. And right when she thinks I'll help her get the throne I'm giving the crown to Alistair [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/devil.png[/smilie]

- Try to find a way to cure the taint. The sacred ashes of Andraste maybe?

- Use the Right of Conscription to get more recruits. Especially if I could do the above. Grey Wardens are needed but not me anyhow :P

- Morrriiiggannnn.... okay I won't even go there...

I really do wish we could just let Eamon die and let Bann Teagan take over Redcliffe. My blood mage is totally self-serving, and I just can't see him saying "Okay, let's go on this big long quest for some ashes just to wake this guy up, when his brother could probably just take the reins and give me the armies that I want." The same thing really would go for the dwarves, I see him as more likely to just up and leave and not take dwarven allies than he would be to pick a side and do something about their petty (to him) arguments.

Characters I would have liked to see recruitable as party members.

Fergus (on any origin story not just the HN one) Maybe you FIND him in the Wilds after the battle?

Ser Gilmore (that last line he speaks is filled with such heart wrenching despair I just wanna knock him out, sling him over my shoulder and force him to run with me)

Soris (for the comedy) hes a freaking HOOT in the CE origin! not to mention hes a cutie.

Gorim (from the DN Origin),

Fenalen from the Dalish origin.

Cullen (I can see it now, hes like a big stupid guard dog CULLEN LOOK blood mages! Sic em!)

Oh and /punt Isolde off the cliffside option when you are talking by the mill. I know I said earlier stupid wasn't a good enough reason to kill someone but in this case I have to make an exception.

I really like a lot of the ideas others have included, and even those I wouldn't use myself would be great options anyway.

Of particular note are those regarding getting rid of Eamon and Isolde, bedding/romancing Teaghan, slapping Anora, going down fighting in the HN origin, another dialogue option when hardening Alistair, and dwarves (including dwarf commoner) being able to crown themselves (Harrowmont could be their regent until they're done with killing the Archdemon).

In addition I'd like to be able to:

* Bring Ser Gilmore from the HN origin along when we flee and have him be romanceable.

* Kill Anora after the Landsmeet if I put Alistair on the throne - Alistair doesn't have to know about it or agree, I'll just send Zevran, or Leliana, or Morrigan.

* Make HN characters king/queen if they marry Anora/Alistair with the two As being consorts instead. The Couslands have got a much better right and bloodline than Anora - and almost as good a bloodline as Alistair but with none of his disadvantages of being a bastard, not being raised to rule, etc. It makes much more sense from every angle than putting either of them on the throne to rule for themselves.

Yes, actually. I find it hard not to think in tropes anymore. [smilie]../../../../images/forum/emoticons/pinched.png[/smilie]

While we're at it, let's make Shianni the Arlessa of Denerim and, as the other guy mentioned, Sandal the King of Orzammar. Better than the ****heads that are in those positions now.

We'd have leverage over Jowan, because we'd be the one group of people in Ferelden not trying to kill him.  It would be a lot like our relationship with Zevran, really.

Plus, I think Jowan and Morrigan would get on each others' nerves, and that would be fun to watch.

Whenever I need a quick laugh I go to that site. I love it. And I'm waiting on a RPG to let me do a good Batman gambit.:innocent:

  • Ser Gilmore be romanceable and a party member
  • Spare Jowan - even when I asked Teagan and Eamon to do that, they refused.
  • Would love an option to interject in dialogue between party members...SO many times I've heard something, and would have loved to have asked "WHAT was THAT all about?!!!!"
  • The ability to be able to convince Alistair to return to the party with high enough coercion if you choose Loghain at Landsmeet.  That's really sort of OOC for him - even though he's a whiny little git at times, the man still has a hugely strong sense of duty.

Recruit Ser Cauthrien, maybe even make her romanceable.

also, the ability for a male noble to "soften" Anora if you choose to marry her, so the situation isn't quite so one-sided (female characters get a romanceable party member most of them already liked, male ones get... a semi-literal ice queen. Yeah...)...

Also, for dwarf characters to crown themselves king/queen.

One that's been striking me on a replaythrough...

The Blackstone deserters - depending on which dialogue option you choose, they'll tell you you're being manipulated and generally behave in ways that imply there's more going on than simple desertion before attacking you. Now, the first time there's no reason to do anything apart from triggering the combat, but the second and third time it would be nice to be able to ask them for their side of the story, and possibly come to an arrangement to fake their deaths.

One of my wishes would be that I could shoot one of those ballistas on the bridge, as you cross over to the Tower of Ishal....in the first Ostagar run hehe. I always look down there and wish I could kill darkspawn, but of course..you can't.

I wish I could have gone directly to Loghain as Morrigan suggests and side with him from the beginning. Then you would actually have a choice in regards to Redcliff, finish the job, so to speak.

Orzammar - I want to be king/queen dammit! Where is that choice? I choose... ME! Harromont becomes the happy advisor that he is, not a ruler, and Bhelen dies. So much better.

Mage Origin - I dunno, but a legit reason to become a Warden would be nice, cooperating with the first enchanter makes it odd.

Human Noble - Stand and fight to the death to protect my parents and have Duncan drag my KO'd ass out of there for a real reason to join him.

Anvil - Kill Branka and keep the anvil would be nice, I hate her but I like my golem army.

Yes with that part of the story..I WISH I could have refused to betray Jowan.    I felt bad about it, because he was misguided, and I figured if I could keep him in my group, I could have kept him out of trouble...and he wouldn't have been able to poison the Arl.

Human Noble yes..I had the same wish, I wanted to avenge what they did to my father...also I never ever found Fergus.....is he findable ..did I miss something?   (Fergus the brother of the PC noble)

Agreed..because I always choose the Desertion choice, and they always kind of say ..I won't go back..I'm sorry it had to be you Warden...etc.  Something fishy going on there, but heck I need my gold so I can keep on going lol.

Ser Cauthrien..now there's a sad story ..even though she tries to kill you.    She is more than likely too deep in her hero worship of Loghain to listen, but it would be nice to be able to turn her around with coercion.   I also suspect she is interested in Loghain as a love interest,  hence her closed ears when you attempt to talk to her before the Landsmeet.

I would LOVE to do something to Isolde...other than the sacrifice thing..she's such an idiot.  All those people that died because she didn't want to tell anyone her son had magical abilities.    Not even her husband.

How did she figure she was going to keep that hidden forever.    I was perfectly willing to have her sacrifice herself for her son,  fitting ending for her...but Alistair wouldn't have been happy with me.   *sigh*

I wanted to give the Dwarven Crown to that Desher who *really* cared about the Casteless, unlike Bhelen who was merely manipulating them to be his power base, and indifferent Harrowmont. I think he was a member of House Dace.

Similarly, I wanted to say to Eamon and/or Teagan "No, I'm sorry; one of you has to take the throne. I refuse to give it to either a whiny bastard who doesn't want it, or Loghain's little girl. Take the crown and shut up."

I wanted to tell Riordan "Join the party!" and have him actually do it.

There are also a number of things my evil characters wanted to do to more proactively help the Dragon Cult (and manipulate them into joining my army).

My female City Elf wanted to join Zevran's ex-girlfriend (with Zev in tow, of course) on her pirate ship and sail away. "It's all up to you now, Alistair, have fun!"

I still think some sort of high seas adventure, pirating would be fun and might fit in as well. After all we do have a pirate residing in the Pearl. :D

I was a bit disappointed when I made my Human Noble Rogue nice and manipulative with plans to screw everyone over and proclaim myself king, only to find that there was no way to off Anora and Alistair and take the crown myself. Maybe have an option to kill off Alistair, marry Anora, then poison her in secrecy...and RULE WITH AN IRON FIST!

You can spare jowan, Eamon sends him back to the mage tower. I have no idea what happens to him after that.

As for Loghain and Alistair.. What I -want- is Riordan to stop being secretive and tell me -before- the landsmeet about the Grey Warden sacrifice.

Then I can say to Alistair "Dude, it's okay, we can recruit Logain and throw him at the Archdemon at the right time."

That way, both Alistair and my PC get to live happily, Morrigan doesn't get her old god baby, and Loghain gets his just deserves.

For both my male and female PCs, I find it very frustrating that I can't have the ending I actually want.

Well, you don't -have- to kill her. As a rogue with level 4 Coercion and 60+ cunning, you can talk her down. Surrender to her in Howe's estate the first time, then talk her around the 2nd time when she turns up and blocks your entrance to the Landsmeet.

I don't like killing her either.

You can, but it's not easy.  It is easier if you surrender to her without a fight when saving Anora.  But you can talk her down at the Landsmeet even if you don't, with more difficulty.  It's rather heartbreaking.  She will either say "duty has never tasted so bitter" or "I wish I had died at Ostagar."

I think lvl 4 coercion is the main thing - I've had much lower cunning and managed it...

Speaking of - Coercion would rule if you got merchant bargaining and romance / gifts buffs along with it - just sort of goes with the whole 'persuasive individual' thing...

Well I probably could've told Riordan that jumping off a tower onto a dragon was a stupid idea if he'd metioned it, making poor Alistair kill himself like that... *cough*

What would be good (thought it had no bearing on the game, since it's right at the end) would be- after taking morrigan's ritual, convincing alistair to do it- when Alistair asks at the post-coronation "What do I tell the Grey Wardens?", you should be able to tell them that Riordan killed the demon, problem solved?

My female mage would have kidnapped Cullen to become a warden with Duncun. Way at the begining. My character also wants the apportunity to kill Jowan - Hes winey and a blood mage - I wanted to chase him right away too lol.
