I've seen several Awakening videos, as many there are anyway, and i continue to see Alistair in this video. While this may not be a problem for SOME people, in my game, I decided to let Alistair make the sacrifice and kill the archdemon (along with himself). Does anyone have any speculations of how Awakening will go if Alistair is already dead?
Alistair (Possible Spoiler) Question?

Anora will probably be placed into where Alistair is supposed to be. As much as I hate it, I believe Alistair won't have much to do in Awakenings.

It will probably work in exactly the same way it does in the final stages of the game now.
For example, in my first play through, Anora was queen (as I'd chosen to redeem Loghain) and she gave the speech right before the army marched into Denerim.
On my next play through, Alistair was king, Loghain was dead, and Anora imprisoned, so it was Alistair who gave the speech.
Exact same speech, just one character including voice actor, swapped for the other.
Awakening will likely work in the exact same way.

Yeah, either Alistair or Anora is going to wind up on the throne, so its simply a matter of substituting one for the other in the dialogue. I think the far more interesting question is what happens if Loghain is still alive, or if Alistair is alive but isn't made king. I wonder if they will make still appearances anyway.

What if your character is king, and you play as the Orlesian Warden?

You cannot be king. You're just Anora's prince consort. She''ll probably tell you the typical "you're still a Grey Warden and the only one for the job" and force you to be the GW commander anyway until you return to the palace.xI extremist Ix wrote...

As for the Orlesian GW, I think you only get the option if your DAO character died but I might be wrong.
Maybe you can leave your other character and play as the new one. We''ll just have to wait and see.

I have read that "a character is going to return" in Awakening, do you think it's possible that maybe Alistair can be part of the adventure too? Like in the game i want to pursue, Anora is Queen, Loghain dead and Alistair went off to travel with my elf, it would be sad if he wasn't in Awakening seeing as they had a romance and left together.

Read the awakening FAQ its Oghren. Alistair's appearance is only cameo like Loghain and Wynne's appearances.KajiMadoushi wrote...

You know, when you read the FAQ, that is not actually what it says.
"For companions you'll potentially meet Loghain, Wynne, and Alistair depending on your decisions in Origins."
For companions. That to me implies the characters that actually accompany you. You know, like it was in DA:O. I was super psyched when I saw that, until I checked more. I think whoever wrote the FAQ needs a slap upside the head. >.>
