Besides levelling up isn't the other ways of gaining additional skills/spells?

I think I saw mention of some books - how do you get these books and are they specific to a spell or a skill?

Any other ways?

You can buy tomes from vendors.  There are only a possible 4 books I think.  2 at camp if you have the money, 1 at circle tower, and 1 in denerim.


Also the desire demon in redcliffe may be able to bargain for it.  I'm not totally sure.

The Desire Demon in the Fade can give you a tome if a PC Mage goes in and bargains with her...you can even get her to leave Connor alone as well.



There are a *lot* more than five tomes, though...

There are two (one for spells one for talents) in Orzammar as well.

Only 5 for spells.  If you have the money to get the one from Bodahn in camp and if you deal with the desire demon.

You also get a spell/talent after the Joining, when you revive Arl Eamon (sometimes he gives a skill point instead, though), and after the Landsmeet.
