Garrus, Legion, and then more distantly Tali. I don't see as much potential story for Tali as Garrus and Legion but the BioWare writers are pretty amazing so I don't think it would be impossible. I really want to see a Turian homeworld/planet in ME3 and think Garrus should be an important part of that if he's still alive.



I think Mordin should be more like Chakwas, it would feel weird to have grampa on the squad again. His best moments outside his loyalty quest were in the ship dialogues to me. He could reprise his role from a less mobile health declining position and still be an amazing character.

Mordin (could work as NPC I suppose, as long as he's got a ton of in depth dialog.  This is the strongest new character in ME2 IMO, closely followed by Thane probably)

Garrus (what can I say he's awesome)

Ash (mostly because she's my main Shep's LI and need a soldier for squad balance)

Close runners up would be Tali, Grunt, Samara, and Thane (if he wasn't terminally ill)
