and maybe it's just bad animation, but it almost looks like she mouths something to you right before the kiss.

I always thought she was upset that Shepard walked in on her threatening to flay someone alive.
I don't know about the rengade points.
You used all of the paragon conversation options even if some of them disagree with her? I think if you agree with her to kill someone you get renegade points at the end of the quest.

It was her first quest, where you ahck the terminals to get her the info, that one gave renegade no matter what I seemed to do.  Her next quest I get paragon.

Her reactions in my opinion are those of someone who saved an old lover but fell in love with the man who helped her to save this old lover in the process. That is why she is so furious and angry and all evil towards the Shadown Broker. A part of me gets the feeling we're going to see her come back in ME3 asking for our help in rescuing the Drell who she loves now.(That would really s**k in my opinion.) But it is also the reason they gave us the LIs in ME2.

If they actually do go this route, and Liara has any sort of romantic involvement with the Drell I don't think there is anything BW could do that would make me want to buy ME3.  Or probably any game they ever make again.

Ah yeah....that would be quite the gut punch. :-(

Agreed. Completely. Period.

I felt just about everything they did in ME2 was to advance the story while keeping you distracted with all the combat elements and pretty worlds and cool missions.

They did this to "save the best for last" or at least I hope I'm right.

Except the story didn't advance.  We are at exactly the same place at the end of ME2 as we were at the end of ME1, only now we have a ship full of homeless people tagging along with us and no Liara.

Yeah, makes you wonder what the ME3 story is going to be like.
In all honesty, they are going to need more than two disks to cover ME3 and everything that should have happened in ME2.

Honestly I want ME3 to be a minimum 50 hour play through with up to 100 hours if you do everything there is to do.  Gotta close out the trilogy with a bang, none of this spending more time getting what's on the grocery list then actually cooking or enjoying the meal.

I just have this feeling that with the way everything in ME2 has gone BW is going to gratuitously throw it in there at the end of the comic.  Her having a relationship with Feron is really the only explanation of why she is so obsessed with the Shadow Broker and her whole reaction to seeing Shepard again and not wanting to go with him after she finds out he is alive, and I want to preemptively express my dislike of the tasteless turn of events. :P

[/quote]

There are only two issues left, and they have to be pretty plot heavy to resolve the story of the comics in a satisfactory manner.

I wouldn't be surprised however, should they cram something braindead like that in.

you think you have something to complain about?

i stayed faithful to Liara with my Femshep in ME2. because i liked her? no. because what the hell else was i gonna do in ME2? I know what you are saying and i agree, but i was ready to take the next best thing......guess what - there was no "next best thing".

FEMSHEPS GOT THE SHAFT!!!!!!!! in almost every way. the only reason i say "almost" is because some people like romancing the boys with their Femshep which is fine for them, not for me.

I just wish that when you talk to the romanceable characters that there is an option to say you are not interested because you still love Liara. Also, I wish that there would have been more interaction between Liara and Shepard. It's been two years and Liara went to the ends of the universe to get you back and now you're going on a suicide mission?! Shepard should have been given the opportunity to say hey, "I love you! Come here and hold me before I go off to war!"

Not only that, it's just not needed. At this rate the best explanation is that Liara let her anger get the best of her thereby clouding her judgement which allowed her friend to be captured or killed. That's also on top of the fact that her firend/lover was killed and she needed to hand his body to an enemy in order to prevent the Collectors from getting a hold of it from the Shadow Broker who is responsible for her friends possible death/capture.

That is the best possible explanation!

I don't see any reason to think that Liara and Feron are an item--- I think she said friend in an odd way because he is dubious at best in the comic.

If Shepard returned and she truly loved him as we are led to believe from conversations with her in ME1, I find it hard to believe she would not ask for help from him in getting her friend back. If all he was was a friend. No... there is something much more going on with her reactions and indifference to seeing Shepard again.

It would be just like Bioware to not bring closure to this.

On the other hand... I was faithful to her on my first run through and I romanced Miranda on the second. If you don;t get back with Liara... then you should at least be able to continue a serious relationship with Miranda, especially considering what you see after you complete the game and call her up to your quarters.

Well from what I gathered her friend was Feron he was supposed to actually trying to prevent her from finding Shepard's body. So I think thats proof enough that were never an item.

There's absolutely nothing in the comics hinting at them being an item, and it would be stupid of BioWare to do it.

That said, it is a comic book, so these things can happen pretty "suddenly". Also, BioWare is clearly not immune to making stupid decisions from time to time.

I haven't read the comic except for that little tid bit that came with the collector's edition... but he did agree to help her find Shep's body didn't he? At least that is the way I read it. And he only said it wasn't a good idea because of what she would see i think. Not becuase he was trying to prevent her from finding it.

Feron works for the SB. In issue 2 he says it was his task to "lead Liara away", but Cerberus interfered.

I wonder why Feron turns on the Shadow Broker?  Is he afraid of Liara's biotic wrath?  Is it because Liara is just so sexy and cute?

Oh, and I see Kelly has made it to your sig!  I agree that Kelly is better than most of them, but not Jack.

It came off to me as Feron liking Liara's earnestness, feeling responsible for walking them into that Blue Suns trap, and being set up by the Broker himself. He didn't know the SB was going to attack him and Liara, so maybe he feels betrayed and decides to betray right back?

And, yes, my old sig didn't make much sense without the old avatar. Jack is not a member of the girl's club, so Kelly is indeed better. Shame, but truth.:innocent:

As long as she doesn't suggest Kelly is better than Samara, we can still be friends.

I agree completely. I'd also like to add that if you bring Tali and Garrus with you to see Liara, they say NOTHING. Not even back on the ship, you'd think that they would have something to say about her new personality. SUPER DISAPPOINTING. Please, Bioware, have squad talk in ME3 like in DA:O.

Yeah. Kaidan at least comments on Garrus, incredulous, if he sees him: "And Garrus too!"

Interesting thread. Yeah i want to be on board with the whole BioWare dropped theball with Liara stuff, but I will hold out until we see or don't see Liara related DLC. If we do, then we will be wrong, mark my words, if we don't see the DLC, I will publicly endorse this thread.

Imagine the political fallout if you endorsed too early.

I romanced Liara in ME1 and I enjoyed her return. I thought the scenes on Illium were full of pathos. I understand that players who role played their Sheps as madly in love with her in ME1 would be disappointed about the lack of dialogue options specific to the romance, but for me - my Shepard liked her, it was a budding romance... and in ME2 things had shifted. In a big way.

Something terrible has obviously happened to her. Her feelings on being caught threatening to flay her contact were really well played and were enough of a cue about the awful and unrevealed two years she has endured. (My) Shepard tried to get her to open up, but failed. With the short, business-like nature of our new relationship, there was a real sadness (for me) in those scenes that helped drive home his isolation following the two year absence.

It was actually one of my favourite bits of the game (along with the Kaiden cameo). I'm sure her story isn't over.

If the DLC is something substantial then there will be complaining about needing to buy extra content to get closure to our relationship that should have been part of the game proper without exception.
