The only difference for a non-Wrex play is that his brother Wreav is the clan leader, and the krogan aren't trying to unite.

There's not much extra dialogue for having Wrex there, really.

Thats not true. Its an entirely different experience, and the dialogue with Wrex is completely different.

What's not true about it? A couple dialogues change that show Wrex is uniting the krogan, and Wrex has a couple lines describing what he's doing.

Otherwise it's all the same. Quests are the same, politics with Uvenk are the same, NPC's are the same...

I suppose his brother gives you a warm welcome and continues to call you his friend in almost every sentence, and is willing to give shepard access to anything he want's then? There is a significant difference, Bioware can only do so much anyways.

LOL, significant difference...

So Wrex gets off his throne and shakes your hand in a 20 second scene before he climbs back on the throne. As for him giving you "access to anything"... He gives you access to everything Wreav does. Wreav tells you about Grunt's condition, Wreav tells you about Mordin's assistant, Wreav and Wrex fill the same role, except, as I said, Wrex has a few more lines of dialogue telling you what he's been up to. It's not much, and it certainly is not significantly different to Wreav.

Interrupt Hug!

Ha, I was about to post the exact same thing. Seriously, why didn't Shepard hug her right there!? :(

Damnit, I get a hug from Ash who was more like a sister but I can't hug the person I loved!?!?!!?

The devs should not let us down again !  Why creating such a nice character as Liara and let her rot all the rest on the games.

I don't want to see a another bunch of boring badass characters.  Jack was so annoying, Zaeed is boring and useless.

Yeah, I really could have done without those two, I want my true biotic love/sidekick back.

Agreed. I'm one of the few who actually though Zaeed kinda neat, but still... If they are going to expend resources on an essentially throwaway squaddie, and with Kasumi on her way it sure looks like that's an established policy, why not expend some to make the much ballyhooed about story continuity throughout the trilogy more emotionally engaging, to use their own favorite term?

Since we don't lose access to Liara the way we do to Ash/Kaidan, it is doubly aggravating to know that Shepard can visit her anytime, but the "lovers" simply have nothing to say to each other.

I'd love to drop a 1 ton ball on Liara, what a ****. Been dead 2 years & all I got was a kiss & a hug then told to gtfo. She's become an obsessed freak, I wouldnt replace her with any of my current squadmates that's for sure. Glad she is a NPC now. And same goes for Ashley...2 years dead & I get blown off again, seriously what the hell? Those 2 chicks no longer welcome on the ship. At least my boy Wrex has a logical explanation of why he can't assist you.

That is kind of the point of this thread, the writer's did a crappy job.

Some actually think they did it intentionally to make people lose interest in them, and judging by your post if its serious and not a troll, they are succeeding.

Nah, as much as we'd like to think Liara's an important part, the horrid job they did in writing her for ME2 shows her low position on the totem pole.

If you look at the threads the devs actually respond to, such as class balancing issues, you can see which issues interest them. For example, the nerfed biotics (all those adept threads), the planet scanning, and the perceived uselessness of the Vanguard. I'm betting all these issues have already been flagged as concerns to be looked at when the real development of ME3 starts.

For Liara 2 years is like 2 months to her. Nothing she lives a human life 10 times over if everybody lives to 100. They say humans in that time live to 150 from how I heard someplace. But 1000 years is still many times longer then a human life.

I'm still hoping they add Liara as DLC team mate. How? Well she joins you after doing those missions, and her loyalty mission is find Shadow Broker. But its just a dream.

Still if she isn't a squad member in ME3 then its just epic fail on Bioware side.

I think Bioware's plan may be to keep her in her information broker role, as nonsensical and poorly written as that development was. Unfortunately.

Hell, some people do think that the roles the ME1 LIs played in ME2 were logical, but even they tend to agree that what content was in there was threadbare and poorly implemented. And many more despise the whole concept of Liara's new GrimDark personality and the short and unreasonable Ash/Kaidan cameos, where Shepard can't be arsed defend his/her actions, and the player is forced to just take in the anger from the ME1 LI in question.

Aside from the planet scanning, the appearances of the ME1 LIs in ME2 were the most universally criticised features of the game. What on earth were they thinking, when they made these half assed, insulting cameos?

Maybe the time allocated for the returning LI took place after lunch on a friday?

I just hope our faith to our ME1 love interests will be (massively) rewarded in ME3. If I passed up all these interesting ladies in order to stay with Liara, only to have her continue a poor role or be non-interactable as a love interest I will be sorely disappointed. :(

I also hope that is not the case for ME2 love interests in ME3. It's as if Bioware promotes being unfaithful! :P

Honestly I disagree about Devs messing up Liara in ME2.

Yeh I definetly miss our akward innocent scientist from the first game but then again thats sort of the point with this franchise is watching how the characters develop and thats why come ME3 I can guarantee that most of us will be much more invested in characters from ME1 and ME2 than anyone we may join us in the final chapter.

As far as romance goes with Liara hell atleast you get a kiss out of her as I've seen thus far I believe with ashley and kaidan you get a hug and a simple message. Oh not to mention that neither ashley or kaidan are in the least bit helpful as far as ME2 is concerned . If your reading the redemption comics like I have been you'll see as to why Liara may have changed through the course of two years , and as far as Im concerned Liara seems to be the only one who actually cared enough to go looking for your frozen corpse so I think its only fair the people read the comics all the way through before judging whether or not she was portrayed right in this game.

she said it her self in me1, we asari live for thousand years (cant remember if this one goes correctly)

we dont look at the end but the time we are together (something like that)

even tho shepard was her 1st she still should be able to pass on?

tho i doubt it. but i really didint like the way she turned to be on me2, ofc she has to be pissed but thats way over doing it.

I never said they did a bad job with her in ME2, more of they did a really good job of testing your damn patience if Liara or Ashley was your LI. But when it all comes down to it, only bothered with them because Tali wasnt a romance option in ME1. And as for saying people who cared, Liara was the only one who had nothing to do with her life. She was hardly doing anything to begin with so she had plenty of free time to try and find a corpse.. Ashley is busy with her duties for the Alliance, Tali is busy helping her fleet with the geth, even with the comic, the whole caring enough argument is moot. All Liara did was research prothean ruins by herself.

I suppose thats a good point however it still kind of sucks to know that people that went to hell and back for shepard that only one of them actually attempted to find anything that was left of him.

Yep.  We're up to around 120 pages when you combine the two big Liara threads and not one dev posts addressing our concerns.

Silence is deafening.
