The default Shep in ME2 is a fast runthrough of ME1 with no side mission's and just hitting the select button for every dialog choice with out checking any branching dialog tree's or making any paragon/renegade choices.
Not entirely, it was more a if they "can" die, they died. Virmire survivor of the opposite gender. Let Council die. Udina for Councilor. Some of those are renegade decisions in ME1 I believe.

The 'neutral' option for the Council is something like 'Concentrate on Sovereign', and the option for who is Councilor is 'I don't really care' or 'It's not my choice', Something like that.

You dont get the gas to save the colonist's if you do not ask about it, default Shep does not explore dialog option's, so every one dies. They probably do not even mention Shiala in ME2 if you do a default run, if there is no Zhu's Hope colony, there is no reason for her to be on Ilium, but I have not played a default run to be positive about this.
no shiala is not there its a normal colonist's instead says they are back on earth but you still get the they are all sick sidequest

As with any RPG though, you have to assume there are more colonist's on Zhus Hope then just what you run in to, just like I doubt there are only fifty or so people living on all of Ilium or the Citidel.

Fair enough, but what's your point? That we should preorder ME 3? Sorry, ain't gonna happen. BioWare blew it, and the faith is gone. They can say what they want from now on, but I'll wait for (trustworthy) reviews, and possibly comments from the community. Like I for a long time already did with all other developers. That has nothing to do with writing them off - if the game delivers, I'll gladly pay the price. Otherwise, I'll just wait for the price to drop, buy it used, or perhaps even not at all.
Yeah it's a snowballs chance in hell I'll preorder ME3 after what they promised before ME2 and did with the game. In my case I will wait and listen to what the community have to say, I have no trust in any reviewers of any other kind. BW pissed me in the eye and told me it was raining ones, I wont fall for that a second time

If they come out with a Liara expansion, and it is awesome enough and covers everything it needs to cover (lots of content double digit hours worth, covers the fight against the Shadow Broker, covers her time while Shep was dead that includes her NOT getting cozy with Feron, covers getting their romance back together, covers getting her out of this grimdarkification she has received, shows a good shot of Feron dead, and ends with a nice trip to the captain's cabin) that would be enough to say BW had regained my faith in them. At that point I would once again be looking forward to ME3.
If they don't cover all of that. If we get two 5 minute hacking quests, a 20 minute kill everyone in this warehouse, and "see ya later Liara" then no, I think I'll just be dropping BW altogether.

it would have to go some to explain why she acts like she does and wants to kill the sb because the excuse in game of selling your body does not make sense funny thing is she is the one that should have stayed loyal out of all the ex crew members because she knew you would be back as she got your body

also she should have been the most loyal to you as she knew you were coming back as she was a big part in setting it up the other me 1 LI did not so you can forgive them moving on and dating someone else maybe

Agreed, they need to clear that up right away and get things back on track.

I really can't wait for what I hope will be a wonderful DLC that will make my gaming year, at least until the now-high-anticipated (If there's a gread DLC) ME3 comes out. I still think ME2 was phenomenal, but the deal-breaker was the ME1 LI's. I couldn't stand it. Refer to my earlier posts for reasons why. I assure you, I've provided plenty.
Just fix this single, glaring issue, BioWare, and all will be absolutely PERFECT, and I will hail Mass Effect as the best game series I have ever played (Trust me, I've seen some great ones). I have already decided Mass Effect itself was the best (Having dethroned Oblivion). Come on, BioWare, show us your true colors! You've got quality at your heart! It's what you're all about!

I'm really praying for Liara (And indeed all ME1 Romance) DLC. BioWare knows we want it! They can deliver it, and it would be economical. They'd make more money than it cost, since there are loads of us ME1 LI fans, plus the fact that there are untold legions of players who just download anything that looks good to them, LI fans or not! They will read this soon, if they haven't already (I like to imagine the company I love so much is interested in what its fanbase (The devoted ones, at least) have to say).

Agreed. I'm not happy with the core game, but if the expansion (I won't call it dlc, dlc is too small for what I want) makes up for it I think I would be more than happy with ME2 once it is actually done. At the moment though I still rank it quite a ways below ME1 in my all time favorites.

If we get that I'll be happy and might consider giving them a benefit of a doubt concerning ME3. There is a glimmer of hope I suppose but it's fading fast in a torrent of pessimism, they need to get there thumb out there ass and do or say something. Not as if they have a habit of saying much and it's gotten worse as of late. There is hardly any interaction between BW and the community as it used to be.

I was feeling that same way, to the point I was just going to leave the forum till I went on that tirade in the Cheating...poor Liara thread. That made me feel slightly better.
It would be nice to hear something, but really what could they say? If it isn't confirmation that they are going to make all our dreams come true in a Liara Expansion we would probably eat them alive. They know what they did wrong. This isn't a nice happy place like the Tali thread that got completely catered to in ME2.
I would love for the devs to give us something to at least try and cheer us up, like confirmation that Liara is in fact not going to be romantically linked to Feron and that he dies a cruel and horrible death at the hands of the SB, but I doubt they will do that either.

I pray for this, BioWare. It is my greatest video-game dream. She's your most epic character (Just in my opinion! Agree if you want to, I don't want to start an off-topic debate.), so why shun her? I know you've got something planned. If it can't come soon (May at the latest, a month after you've finished the comic) then at least give us some verbal confirmation or denial of this, our greatest dream!

An expansion, rather than DLC, would be stunning. And while I said ME2 was great, minus the reason we use this thread, there are some pretty big holes in it. Regardless, fix this issue with a wonderful expansion, and we will be your devoted, boot-licking slaves. Liara is the sole reason I bought the next game (You know, not counting the whole action/RPG experience /joke), so you can imagine my dismay at going to Illium and having an appointment (Yes, it was an appointment, not a romantic reuniting) with Dr. McGrimdarkification.

A expansion would be preferable I think, gives more room for content then what DLC will do. The down side is that expansions takes more time to do, waiting is bad for my Liara addiction
No ME2 is not that bad, ther is some good things but dame there is some really bad things to and they kind of obscure the good parts in my opinion.

Same for me, the bad overshadowed the good.
Looking at DA:O though it's been out, what 4 months? And they have their first expansion on the way. I haven't heard how "large" it is supposed to be, but given the time frame a month after the comic ends would put ME2 on about the same timeline if an expansion is coming.
