It could be though that the friend that she mentions is actually her lover and that she is seeking revenge against the Shadow Broker because of that. Maybe she thought Shepard would not want her back after she gives him to Cerberus.

Her friend is most likely Feron, and if he and Liara become lovers in the next two comics I would shocked. She says in game that she gave Shep to Cerberus because she thought they could rebuild Shep and she 'couldn't let you go'.

Yeah, but these lines appear if you hadn't romanced Liara as well.

All this is just a speculation though. I could be totally wrong. Another possibility is that she simply blames herself for giving Shepard over. She thought he would hate her and tried to forget her feelings so it doesn't hurt too much when he wakes up and gets angry.

the only problem there is she gave them your body because she could not let go why would she then turn around and leave you and not really care when you show up plus its more she has gone nuts and wants to kill the sb than anything else because he tried to sell your body which as a reason  makes no sense at all

plus something that bothers me about all that what if you did not have her as your mass effect LI the whole not being able to let you stuff makes even less sense you would think your LI would do that

Um, when you fear somebody you love will be angry at you, and suffer severe guilt because of it, you don't just jump to the nearest suitor you find. Believe me, I know. It hurts. The pain, paranoia and guilt can take forever to fade.

Yeah, but she had two years to deal with her feelings... It must have changed her.

I suppose she did not really have a choice in leaving you to Cerberus, if she wanted you alive. But probably guilt was very powerful and to shut it off she shut off all her feelings. Don't know, I am just speculating. As I said, I could be wrong.

Sounds like Liara will come with a new place as well, judging by the names. I think OmgHub = Omega hub, CitHub = Citadel Hub. With Liara DLC comes TwrHub. A new place probably ...

Its probable a new place will come within the DLC download. Since I found other files that had TwrHub but in addition had conrad, gianna, observer, quaslave, rachni etc attached with it. From my view I take it the DLC will start pretty much in Illium.

I noticed that BioWare must have something in plan for her, after all why keep her door open throughout the whole game? It might seem once you get the DLC, you can come back and ask her and she probably will have a new answer saying she found where the SB could be. Then maybe she and Shepard can go on a quest together I hope...^_^

Hmm. That's interesting. So looks like the DLC at least starts on Illium. The Zaeed one is called OmgHub_DLC_Veteran, there is a CitHub_DLC_500Thief (some thief will possibly be recruitable, maybe Mouse?) and then there is TwrHub_DLC_504Liara which could mean she will be recruitable. But I actually hope she is not recruitable because that would mean she is unlikely to be a squad member in ME3.

thats sort of are point even if that is right why was she so hard when they met up in mass effect 2 and wanting to kill the sb it did not fit

I have a feeling the way they will explain it will be the im will feed her a line or something about the sb to get her worked up more

TwrHub is actually their code for the Illium area you find her in.  All files related to that area begin with TwrHub for some reason.  This doesn't mean there won't be a new place, but you'll probably have to go to Illium to launch the dlc content.

thats going to be a problem with 3 how are they going to fit in everyone you have already met and new crewmates unless they give you all the old and some new and let you choose between them who you take that would work for me

That could be also. Or a combination of the two is a possibility. She does reveal that she feels guilty about Shepard in the end (if you ask her about it, there is a video posted somewhere in this thread you've probably seen it) and she does seem to get back to her old self for a bit. She was really likable because of her innocent personality. I hope they don't totally spoil her.

Could be, but I have a strong feeling that the ME2 characters are not going to be squad mates in ME3 since they all might die. So from the ME1 characters, that leaves Liara.

thats the problem they are going to let you import save games again and by that time you will have 2 games worth of decsions and some games if not most will have everyone living in the end of 2 and I cannot see them not having any new crewmates in 3

maybe shepard doesn't fancy liara anymore? i haven't read all 60 pages worth of discussion and endless speculation (and dare i say whining) because simply it's 60 damn pages long! so i can't tell if anyone has actually considered shepards feelings.

if i had romanced liara in ME1 then subsequently found out that she had given my body to cerberus because she couldn't let go. then, even though she couldn't let go, she pisses of across the milky way so that she wasn't there by my side with a fully cooked breakfast when i eventually wake up. i'd be a bit pissed off.

but going by the in game dialog that does not fit she is the one that is more pissed off Shepard is more trying to get her to talk to him/her and not go all like her mum

Somehow I don't think Cerberus would have been cool with that.

I don't like what you're suggesting. My Shepard kept a photo of her on his desk, and stared at it longingly before the last battle.

What people are forgetting to notice is that, during the kiss, she looks straight at shepard, and shakes her head "no" or "we can't". There's SOMETHING she can't tell us. Maybe it's part of the arrangement with Cerberus. Maybe it's something else. But there's some reason she can't be more affectionate at the moment. Bioware was clearly, to me at least, attempting to use that moment. It was frustrating, but believable. She had to pretend to be distant towards you for some secret reason, and that kiss was even a breach - which is why she turned her head away with that distant look.

There's a reason. And we'll find out.
Or I hope so. Else I'll be angry.

just a crazy idea

with what we know about cerberus and im being all human and not having much love for aliens maybe that is the price of shepard coming back from the dead could they have told her something like they put something in shepard that if he does not do what they want they can kill him/her or if he starts dating her again you could tie it in to how flirty the shepard was in 2

I hear this a lot and if Bioware does this then it borders on the ridiculous.  We just spent a great deal of time on recruiting a wide variety of characters and making them loyal to Shep in ME2.  To turn around and do the EXACT same thing in ME3 just does not make a lot of sense.  It's like replaying the same damn game over again.  Why the "F" would I want to do that?  I like the game tremendously but that is patently obsurd. It's no longer ME3, it becomes ME2 expansion pack.

That's already happened from where I'm sitting.  Kind of annoying how some people think we're overreacting or that the ME1 character's cameos in ME2 are good enough.  I wonder how they'd feel if Bioware came out and said something like "We plan to allow ME2 romances to continue into ME3 with the same depth and interaction that ME1 romances experienced in ME2."  People would be frothing at the mouth.

......but the difference is that I'm not talking about romances and it seems pretty clear that's what you're referring too.  I'm  talking about the reappearance of characters either in squad or not.  I'm not talking about Liara, which seems to be your issue given your history of posts.  There is nothing stopping her from being an active member of your squad in ME3.  There are plenty of characters that she could replace.  In some people's games her absence will not be missed but I romanced her in ME1 and I want her back but that's my opinion and has nothing to do with what bioware will ultimately do.  The only saving grace you, and I, have is that she is the only character guaranteed not to die and therefore there can be no reason preventing her return.  Apparently she'll return on bioware's terms and not ours.

I never thought of it this way, but then again the omission of any notion of talking about the relationship or something as close to it in just a line or two just irks me quite a lot.

I have hope as well things would probably work out in the end, but it's just hard to hope when there's little information on whats ahead in the future at the moment. Maybe in a few months time, there will be a slightly clearer picture on what happens to Liara unlike a foggy outlook.

Agreed, I still have plenty of nerd rage left in me.  Saving it up for when Redemption 3 comes out and we see Liara sucking face with the Drell.  Its gonna be epic.
