Of course, the stars could align and all my dreams could come true. They could have you actually CHOOSE eight or so characters from both games' teams (Numbering what, seventeen now?) and take those with you. Your entire game is completely variable depending on who you actually pick for yourself! That would be wonderful, but would require a lot of writing. The core plot wouldn't be affected terribly, but pretty much everything else would. But they can do it if they set their minds to it!

Personally my eight-pick (Since it's the average between the ME1 6 squad members and the ME2 11, leaning towards a smaller group, since 8.5 doesn't really work. Imagine half a Miranda... Wait, is that a bad thing?Image IPB) would be Liara (Who wouldn't?) as my precious Mrs. Shepard-type squadmateImage IPB, Ashley, Garrus, Tali, Wrex, Legion, Thane, and Mordin.

That would be the ultimate solution but I think it will only be in our dreams unfortanatly.
I would build my team like this... Liara(<3), Garrus, Tali, Mordin, Wrex, Legion, Ashely and the bartender from Illium  But seriously, I don't know who to pick for the last spot.

I'll play.

My picks would be Liara, Miranda, Mordin, Legion, Tali, Garrus, Wrex, Ashley/Kaiden (depending on which you allowed to live, which in my case would be Ashley).

I liked Jack, too, but never used her on missions because she was somewhat similar to my Vanguard and so wasn't as complimentary.

Legion is easy - either him or some other geth will join. There's gotta be a big part for the geth to play.

I'd assume Ash/Kaidan will return, and Liara as well. All those characters have a lot to work out with Shepard, and that will be hard to do without them on the Normandy.

Here's to the reunion of our Normandy family, before the dark days of Cerberus!

This train of thought is leaving me hopeful about things yet to come in the Mass Effect story, and I hope you all feel so, too.

Well, I'm off to work on my Mass Effect fanfiction. I always do when this thread gets my mind going. Keelah se'lai.

Whatever they do with her story... I will be very disappointed if Liara and Shepard do not end up together. I purposely remained loyal to her in my first playthrough as an Adept because I have always wanted to remain with her. I admit to romancing Miranda afterwards but Liara is and always has been my favorite. I want the closure with their relationship that they didn't give us in ME2. And not this she becomes the next SB closure either!

This is what I am hoping for as well. It would also make the most sense given the sheer number of possible squadmates. My team would consist of Liara, Mordin, Legion, Tali, Garrus, and three other characters. Dunno who for the last three, all the others were pretty hit-and-miss with me. Possibly Wrex, but he's a little distracted at the moment. Mordin's the only character I truely enjoyed in ME2. Legion was interesting, but you get him so late in the game that his role seems downplayed. I'd have him tag along for the Tali/Legion infighting that's bound to occur.

I see we've grown rather dormant. *Yawn*

Anyway, I think that, with February coming to a close, and as we draw near the one-month milestone with ME2, we'll be seeing some DLC very soon. Personally, I've set the game aside, worked on other things, and am periodically checking the Cerberus Network for any updates. Apart from an amusing daily news report, not seeing much. Makes me wonder how long they'll keep those reports up?...

Now, can anyone tell me the final release dates for the comic (So I can begin to visualize as to when we'll receive some closure on our Liara issues)? Also, would it be sold at Borders, since they do sell comics there as well?

March 3rd for #3 and April 7th for #4. Reading the previews on the Dark Horse site is interesting... but the tidbit for issue four has me worried somewhat.

Liara T'Soni's search for Commander Shepard's abductors comes to an end, but what other shocking discoveries will she make when she finds them? The comics debut of modern sci-fi's greatest epic holds surprises right up to the very end!

With far-reaching repercussions for the [i]Mass Effect
saga, this tale of friendship and loyalty in the darkest corners of the galaxy closes with an issue sure to thrill fans new and old!

I've been playing over and over and have really paid attention to her dialogue when you speak with her. Some of the things she says make me believe that she is still very much in love with shepard but can;t come right out and say it for some reason.

Part of me says that she fell for this drell guy in the comics and now wants revenge.

And now after reading what the preview for issue 4 says... I'm wondering if she will be back as a LI at all. I'm very concerned because if that is the case, Bioware will have left their story up in the air just as they did Revan and Bastila. No closure. That will upset me to no end.

Read the comics explains alot. She also moved on with her life. 2 years passed and people tend to move on. Also she has good reasons for going after the Shadow Broker. She is also working for the Illusive man too or at least was.

I've ordered Issues 1, 2 and pre ordered 3 and 4.

Is this the sense you get from the comics and how they write things? Based on what she said in the first game on relationships, I just find it hard to believe that she knows you will be alive soon and then "goes on" with her life without you.

I also find that excuse rather lacking.  Everyone else assumes you are dead without the slightest hope of returning.  Liara at least has some viable hope and a powerful organization promising they can bring Shepard back.  When you meet her on Illium, she seems relatively unsurprised you have returned, only withdrawn and perhaps guilty that she had to use Cerebrus among other secrets she may have.

2 years is what? .02 percent of an Asari's lifespan?  Its not like Shepard was serving life in prison...

She did not know shep was going to be brought back to life. Illusive man was vague in telling her things. He only wanted her to recover his body. and at the time she was with a drell. Who she is now trying to save from the Shadow Broker.

Didn't Cerebrus explain what they wanted Shepard for?

So why not just keep the body, or at very least destroy it?

Also on Illium she mentions she didn't want to let you go and Cerebrus offers a chance to have you back, etc etc.  She must've had some idea...

He didn't tell her much only that the collectors wanted the body and he wanted to stop them.

I imagine she will find out by the last few issues, as it seems absurd to turn a body over from one shady organization to another for no good reason.  If she was concerned about the body being manipulated somehow, she could have just burnt it so no one could destroy Shepard's memory.  The only reason to keep the body was she must've had some hope it could be recovered...

I don't buy that for a minute. Not with her reaction to you showing up on Illum. Also... her dialogue does not lend weight to this fact either. She couldn't let him go?

Not the statement a person would make if they had no idea what Cerberus planned, or at least some inkling. Also... to have her go through so much to retrieve his body and then fall for the drell who helped her? I don;t buy that either... not with the many interactions you see in ME2 between Asari and their bondmates or those that were their bondmates. The one Asari on Illum being the perfect example. She still loved her bondmate even though she died some centuries before in the Geth uprising. Doesn't make sense that she moved on. Not with how she felt about Shepard in ME1.

Remember the games are not cannon since there are so many options what is cannon are the writen book/comics that are or are being released.
Also I have the comic sitting next to me
Also she refers to some of this in the game.

So what you are saying is that she does fall in love with the Drell??? Also... the KOTOR games are canon for Bioware and have fit into the SW Extended Universe. Who says the game is not Canon? You have many different options in KOTOR as well.
