They can't work their way around this one. They have to acknowledge their relationship. Liara can't just tell Shepard the story beind Redemption (which she'll have to recap after the comics are released) without mentioning her romance with him. It just can't be done. I'm so happy. I'm walking on bloody air!



Anyway, to sum up this thought, Bioware has earned my tentative excitement. Not trust. Not yet. We'll have to wait and see... Oh, and if ANYTHING happened with Feron, that drell had better pray he's already dead when I find him, because I'm going to be hitting those Renegade options so fast when I do...

if they go the she loves feron thing after knowing him for a few months if that it will not make sense with what she says in game like she could not let you go and she knew what the im was going to do with your body

on the new tank dlc are we getting new levels for that also becasue right now there is not a level in game you can use it in

Now we are going to have to rescue some idiot and have to deal with a thrown together plot for Liara if all that was said is accurate.  I hope a Renegade option is to blow Feron out of the airlock, not because Shepard is jealous, because he is such a terrible character.

I imagine we'll be receiving more explorable planets to drive around on, Blue Suns bases to break into, etc. It's going to be fun, if they manage to avoid, and I quote a popular game reviewer here, "That shopping cart in a bounce-house" handling problem. Because the Mako did handle, to quote a phrase, "Like a fat man on a unicycle." But I hope the tank will compensate for this, although since it is a tank, will it even go that fast? What fun it will be to explore uncharted worlds at a record-breaking speed of twelve miles an hour....

That was sarcasm.

Considering up to the second issue he is a total failure (horrible shot) in every conceivable way and how short the comics are, they are going to have to really, really make him amazing to salvage his garbage persona so far.  The next issue comes out next week, so I am sure we will hear of his amazing "exploits".

Considering Shepard was such a badass/angelic character in ME 1, Liara would be REALLY downgrading to be attracted to Feron.  Its like jumping from a movie star to a guy who sits on the couch all day eating a block of cheese in his underpants.  I'd dump Liara just for having bad taste.  If she cheats on me, at least cheat on me with someone...compelling or good looking...

Hell, if she hooked up with Garrus id give him a high five for taking care of my lady.  But Feron? Really? REALLY?

They pretty much blow off the relationship in the game though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they do not touch on it in Redemption.

Liara says EXACTLY THE SAME THING to Shepard whether he is a lover or merely a friend.  The only difference is romance Shepard gets two seconds of mouth contact and not even tongue or a chance to cop a feel.  For a guy who's been dead two years, that's weak.

I don't think the friend refers to Legion. The differing dialogue that actually shipped doesn't refer to a "friend" at all. She just says the Shadow Broker hurt someone close to her and later on says she's hunting the Shadow Broker "for you and for me" instead of "for what he did to my friend, for you and whatever he's doing with the collectors"
I think it's more likely they hadn't come up with name for Feron yet.
The excuse about confusing for new characters is odd - as they ended up with something confusing for everyone (but more confusing for continuing players, I think).

Eh, I am sure they might have been some development problems, but that sounds pretty awful how they just shoehorned in Feron and really sidelined Legion, Tali, AND Liara's development as characters.

I still thing there is more to come on the line she says dont you think I want to talk with you I just cannot in the game if they go back and add the legion stuff back in to 3 or hell maybe that is what the dlc could be about who knows

Maybe part of the Liara DLC will be a flashback sequence.  It really depends on the comics.  It is sad we are depending on comic books to move forward the story of a massive video game series as, so far, I have not been particularly impressed with the "Redemption" series' contribution to the plot.

I never understood the way the comics came out just before the game and after the game came out its almost like they knew the fans would not be happy and hoped the game would sell the issue after the game came out

I did say on youtube on the trailer for the game you have the fmv of shep grunt and thane fighting in that colony I would love a tv show done like that and with the real voice cast more than a comic book

Not quite certain. Probably just wild speculation. Tends to happen when you leave your fans in the dark. I like to think they omitted the character development of ME1 LIs in order to properly handle them in DLC, rather than the fact that they sold out to Darkhorse and are making video game fans wait on comics for a story they rightly should have received while playing.



I mean, I paid $60 dollars for this game! $60 dollars that could have, say, fed the homeless or bought me a wicked new... $60 pen! Something! I paid for closure, to continue the story the way we were promised! What happened to the "Hard times of a second chapter of an epic love trilogy"? That was a blatant lie if the DLC doesn't come out for this. I hate comic books (No offense meant to those who like the things). I play video games. It's cruel to assume I like both, and to force me to buy a comic book to learn something that by rights I should have learned, I don't know, IN GAME?



The worst part is, they know this. They know I'll buy them anyway, just to read the story, even if it galls me. They're in a great position to make money, but it isn't making them any friends. And it certainly is doing quite a bit to annoy me.

This will, at the very least, resolve her Shadow Broker problems, and even if it doesn't expand on the romance (which I doubt) it will still leave her smiling for the events of Mass Effect 3, and therefore avoid a pressing of the proverbial "reset button" on the relationship!

Wait, wait, hang on, I'm sorry. I know that was important but, ... You're taking something you read off Wikipedia as ultimate proof for what will happen in a future DLC? I mean sure it sounds sweet and all, but really? Don't you think you might be jumping the gun just a tad?

I know it sounds a bit... rushed, but at this point I'm a little desperate for some ray of hope in my desperation. But thanks for the reality check. And you were pretty polite about it. Still, I'm not going to abandon hope, since the people who contribute to such articiles are gamers like you and me who care about the quality of the game, and want to make a valid contribution. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

And they did quote Mac on this, too. Quotes don't leave much room for interpretation when they say something that directly. Then again, Casey said some things to us that turned out to be flat-out lies, so... No. I'm going to hold out for the best. What else can I do?

Wikipedia is a bit...unreliable when it comes to certain topics. Bear in mind it also says Mass Effect 3 will be out in a year. While that would be great in fantasy land...I am imagine late 2011 early 2012 to be more realistic.
