Devs really dropped the ball with Liara...

My Sheppard romanced Liara in ME1 and then when she went on the assignments for her in ME2 the part came up where Liara needed to be told who to kill or whatever. Someone was blabbing at me in the room when the dialouge before that came on so I didn't hear the backstory, and then I picked the wrong person (the Salarian, who had no data on him). So the assistant is still around and Liara doesn't know about her, while I've gone on, earned Miranda's loyalty, collected Thane, and then was deposited back on the Normandy.
But I still got the scene with the fess up from Liara. Is she in danger now because I didn't guess right about the person to kill, or is there something that comes up after that? Can I still expose her assistant as dangerous, and if I don't will she harm Liara?!
I would just about start at the beginning again to not screw that up, and I'd have to because I've been overwriting one save game while the other is practically from the beginning anyway.

Just expecting the worst I suppose. Also her basically dumping Shep to hunt down the SB because he hurt a "friend" of hers, it was rather implied in the conversation. Or maybe it is just me assuming they are going for the worst case scenario here as with everything in ME2.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though I am approaching anything the ME2 writers touch with a lot of trepidation at this point I don't think even they will go that far.
I wouldn't discount the possability because if the writer thinks it makes for a good story they'll do it.

I think they made it clear that at this point taking out the shadow broker is more important to Liara then Shep is and since she is doing this because her "friend" was killed, that "friend" is more important then Shep is at this point.

It's as much for Shepard as it is for her friend. Watch the video again.

Her vendetta is pretty clearly focused on Feron being captured, as she feels that's her fault.

It may not have been their intention, but it came across to me that Shep just was not that important to Liara anymore, she made a new "friend" who was more important to her then Shepard and taking down the Shadow Broker was so important she could not even tell Shep she still cares for her.
I guess they did not want to much dialog and wanted to railroad you, because any Shep with a little bit of time to spare could talk Liara in to joining the team. There is no reason for her not to, hell, if I have time to run errands for all the others I have time to go blow the Shadow Brokers brains out for Liara.
She needs to find him, because the Normandy does not have computer's and communication to do the exact same thing she does from her office?
They gave no valid reason's for that meeting at all, it was horribly done it would have been so much better to not have Liara in the game at all, and just hear about how she is hunting down the Shadow Broker for trying to sell Sheps body to the collector's.
Seriously, if you meet one of Liara's friend's who is excited to see you alive and says she cant wait to see Liara again to tell her, and in the conversation with that friend you are find out she is trying to hunt down the Shadow Broker for what he did to Shep, how much better that would have been?

Liara already beat the SB when it comes to Shepard. Shepard is alive and the SB didn't get her body. There's no reason for Liara to want to kill the SB for Shep's sake if Shep is alive and well.

I disagree. She seemed upset that the SB was going to give away Shepard's body. She doesn't want revenge for that? She got Shepard's body so now she and the SB are cool on that issue? EDIT: Just because she managed to take Shepard's body from the SB doesn't mean that she's forgiven him.
Her vendetta is about both of them.

Her vendetta may be about both of them, but not equally so. Feron is still captured. Shepard is in Cerberus's hands.
You honestly htink Liara is going to go up against the SB alone solely because the Collectors were going to pay a ****load of credits for Shepard's body? Liara's not a freaking moron. She's after the SB because of what happened to Feron. Shepard's body was part of it, but by no means is Shepard her primary motivation.
Think about it. She won. She gave Shep's body to Cerberus. Shepard is out of her hands and out of the SB's hands. She's not going to spend 2 years focusing on someone who tried (and failed) to sell Shepard's body... That makes no sense. Her desire for revenge is predominantly about Feron and her feeling responsible for what happened to him.

It's as much for Shepard as it is for her friend. Watch the video again.
Except for she already beat the Shadow Broker in regards to Shep so really this vendetta is all about her "friend", at least that's how I see it now.

Add to that, Liara would be safer from SB's operatives on the Normandy because it is a stealth ship that trolls the galaxy.

I'm not saying Shepard is the primary reason, and I'm not saying Feron isn't a factor. I'm saying it's probably a 50/50 split now that Shepard is alive again. The SB was going to sell off the body of someone she loved. Shepard is alive now, but that doesn't mean she's forgiven the SB for what he tried to do. If Shepard's and Liara's roles had been reversed, I would absolutely go out of my way to terrorize the SB for what he tried to do even if I managed to recover the body.
EDIT: Do you think she would stop pursuing the SB if she found Feron? I doubt it. It's the same thing with Shepard.

There's no way it's 50/50, especially if you gauge Liara's reaction to Shepard's return. Does she relent in her mad pursuit at all? Nope.
In fact, she ropes Shepard back into her vendetta. She's obviously more concerned with Feron.

Do I think she'd stop pursuing the SB if she saved Feron? Yes.
Her mad vendetta is irrational and insanely suicidal. She's mired by personal guilt over what happened to Shep and Feron. Her pursuit against the SB is predominantly about Feron, so once she knows Feron is safe I imagine she will become lucid again and let her grudge go.
