well said Mystranna....that's the whole reason I went for Tali.....oh and anyone else noticed the hint on Ilium that we might see Tali sans mask in ME3?

I must have missed it, to waht are you referring?

An ad on illium claimed that some treatment can give Quarians and Volus the ability to live without exo suits. The ad claimed a 40% success rate I think. Non the less, it seems unlikely to me.

Sorry to just dive into this topic, but I had no idea about how much more the Ashley/Kaidan romance is acknowledged. I'd read about the post-Horizon e-mail, but I didn't know you could actually talk to Kelly about them! It's just unfair that those who romanced Liara didn't get a chance to acknowledge it. Maybe BioWare thought making her the star of Redemption and being able to revisit her at your leisure (albeit without new dialogue) would compensate?

I'm okay with her colder personality (although I was uncomfortable at first, I understand that she's been through a lot), but I'm not okay with the lack of acknowledgement of a relationship between her and Shepard. Although I was disappointed that she chose to prioritise revenge over Shepard's concern, I suppose she felt that if she didn't avenge Feron, nobody would.

Psh, all he'd do is complain about all the red tape involved with being a good information broker. He'd blow his cover faster than anyone could imagine.

Oh that, yeah I heard that, thought it was cool, then heard the 40% and laughed.

But that's the perfect cover and if you think about it, you go to an information broker to skirt red tape and things like that.

I doubt Liara will have anything overtly romantic going on between herself and Feron. BioWare hopefully isn't that much of a troll.

The writer for Liara changed between the games, I presume. Who knows how the new guy sees her character? Signs are not good so far...

Puh-lease. Drew's writing style for the characters felt so bad it made George Lucas's Star Wars prequels look like Shakespeare.

Agree, disappointed with it. I wanted to jump over the desk and embrace her. After all you were dead, she should be very pleased to see you, but nay. Makes it feel like the romance was just a schoolboy crush and not important.

BW needs to release a romance DLC pack for those who stayed true to their ME LI's.

I just assumed ME1 LI's weren't touched in ME2 to ensure their survival for ME3. A sort of 'get out of jail free' card, so to speak. Perhaps they become pivotal to the story, to the point that it breaks down if they've died in ME2.

No one is saying they needed to be a crew member, just some more interaction would have been nice, especially as Liara is staying on Illium unlike Ash/Kaiden who go where ever after horizon.

Just throwing my two cents into this fray...

I was disappointed as well by how the romance with Liara was dealt with. I understand it's been two years... but by her own admission she couldn't let you go. By her own admission she gave your body to Cerberus knowing they were going to bring you back. She unlike Ashley and Kaiden, she knew you were not "really" dead. Now as for this attitude towards the SB, if you were so hot and bothered about going after him for some perceived wrong doing, would you not go with Shepard in the hopes of using assets that Cerberus has that you may not?

I don't know about the rest of you... but I would be more happy to see a person I loved back from the dead than I would be angry at the Shadow Broker for trying to sell your body. Her reactions to you are cool and aloof, and I find it hard to believe that given her position now, she would not be able to send you some sort of message after you have left to at least let you know that she still loves you.

Her reactions in my opinion are those of someone who saved an old lover but fell in love with the man who helped her to save this old lover in the process. That is why she is so furious and angry and all evil towards the Shadown Broker. A part of me gets the feeling we're going to see her come back in ME3 asking for our help in rescuing the Drell who she loves now.(That would really s**k in my opinion.) But it is also the reason they gave us the LIs in ME2.

Would I rather a large reunion and romance sub plot in ME3... heck yes!!! I guess we are just going to have to suffer through until ME3 comes out or a DLC comes out to address this issue.

In the end though they could have given them "protection" from the suicide mission while still giving them some sort of role.  It's not like Joker was ever really at risk.  They could have still joined the team, served on the Normandy, went every where with Shepard, had at least some form of character development, continued the romance and still been given absolution from the suicide mission.

It is all just a very contrived and lame way for them to take them out of the game so their new cast of scrubs look good enough to care about while leaving the characters we actually do care about stagnant and forgotten for the 4+ year span from ME1 to ME3.

If they actually do go this route, and Liara has any sort of romantic involvement with the Drell I don't think there is anything BW could do that would make me want to buy ME3.  Or probably any game they ever make again.

Made sense to me. Liara is in the middle of an all consuming vengence mission. A brief fling a few years back isn't something that is going to distract her. Ashley is an over emotional basket case, spouting poetry and crap all the time and Kaidan is a total wuss.

I see people saying this on various threads, but where does that leave the fans of the new LIs? If what you say is true, does that mean that none of the new LIs will be squadmates in ME3? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding it.

Casey Hudson said the reason why ME1 LI's weren't in the squad was because they were vital to the story and they were going to finish the story in ME3.

But Casey also said that the ME1 LI's played a vital role in ME2, so it was likely him trying to gloss over their failings.

As it stands, hope for something decent in ME3 is slim at best. The ME2 LI's are all potentially dead, so BioWare may well ****** off a lot of people.

Maybe she'll go with the Drell if you cheat on her in ME2, but stay with you if you remained loyal. EDIT for bad phrasing: I doubt she'll leave you for him.

I just wanted to say that I am extremely disappointed in the dialogue for Liara. Not even one I love you? Come on!
At least there is some small recognition with the picture scene:wub:
Anyway, since Liara is completely obsessed with taking down the SB maybe that is what one of the DLC packs will be about.
Maybe you can take the SB down and there will be a bigger continuation of the romance. Thats my hope anyways.
If not, I hope there is a big reunion for ME 3 (if Liara fell in love with that damn drell I am going to be pissed).

now THAT would be good

those who want her back can try and break up qith the ME2 LI and conquer Liara back

OR

they can give her their blessing for her new relationship with the Drell and keep the ME2 love interest

sounds good to me everybody wins

If it was just a brief fling she wouldn't have fought tooth and nail to get your body back.  I will always contend that it should have been your LI that got your body back and handed it over to Cerberus in hopes of seeing you again.
