Great news! And finally a solution and explanation that really makes sense here. Posted Image

Thus you’ve just earned a new ME2 achievement: "A skillful technician". Posted Image

So good luck with your game, hope it will work for everyone, at least temporarily, until some patch is issued… It was an interesting one to solve…

I also had a bug which I've found out was somewhat related to this! Previously, the achievements i have earned in-game have disappeared after every time I've restarted the game.

This hasn't really bothered me much, but recently it reached my attention that you get a 25% xp bonus in future playthroughs with the "Finished the game" achievement. And that achievement is certainly worth having!

The same "Placed Documents on separate disk" bug applies for this, the game does not create an appropriate folder in your Documents.

What i discovered, is that a Profile folder is missing from "Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\BIOGame\\", which normally is there. You can create this folder yourself, just name it "Profile", and your game will hopefully from now on save your profile there. As far as I can tell, this stores your achievements, and it also saves me from having to log in to Cerberus Network every time i start the game.

this is the dumbest bug I've ever seen, probably belongs into the Guiness book of records. A patch for ME2 is out, but this bug is not fixed. While there is a solution, as described above (thank you very much for providing it), the bug should still be fixed. Also, I still cannot delete individual savegames. I am not sure if this is part of the same problem, but it's sure as hell not working. I could of course switch to the desktop and delete them through win explorer, but it would be better if Bioware finally fixed the damn bugs!

Bumped it again. This is really irritating, I have to create folders for my characters every time I create a new career to fiddle with things.

Greetings. I know this is old, but I wanted to share some information and solution I've come across. As previously mentioned, you'll have to create the profile folder as instructed, but that alone does not make the game save the saved games in the profile folder. In order to get it to do this you have to open the "C:'Program Files'Mass Effect 2'BioGame'Config'DefaultEngine.ini" file and search for the string "Savepath=".[!!!WARNING: MAKE SURE TO CREATE A BACKUP OF THE .INI FILE!!!] Replace the line "..'BIOGame'Save" with the location of your ME2 save folder. In my case it was "D:'Bioware'Mass Effect 2'Save". This should allow the game to both save the game to the proper profile as well as load it. I think that many of the paths in this config file can be modified to reflect the change in the documents and settings drive. This may apply to achievements and other such settings that are confused by the drive change. Hope this helps.
