teaser trailer is up! anybody else getting this for sure?

fallout 3 was one of my favourite games ever, but as an rpg it left a lot to be desired. considering that this is made by obsidian (fallout 2 and kotor ii), i have slightly higher hopes for this.

I'm definitely going to pick it up because Fallout 3 was fantastic. I don't know how I feel about Obsidian doing it but only time will tell.

I have high hopes, maybe they can bring at least some of the old charm that the old fallouts had.

Nice one. Obsidian made some nice game, but I hope this one won't be screwed up with bugs or uncompleted like NWN2 and KotOR2 were.

I'm sure it'll be much better. Obsidian has had time to develop as a company, and I'm sure they've learned from their past mistakes. They really aren't a bad company, and have turned out quality stuff before.

The prime example of Obsidian at its best can be found in NWN2's expansion, Mask of the Betrayer. Rich roleplaying, rich character development, and epic story-telling at its best is on display in that game. Two of their more recent projects are slated for release this year: Fallout: New Vegas and Alpha Protocol.

I believe both will be pretty good. I own every Obsidian that has been released this far. Even though they all have their own faults, they are still pretty fun to play.

Since many of the people at Obsidian created Fallout, I'll trust them to do it justice.

What MerinTB wrote. I'm definitely looking forward to New Vegas and expect it will improve on the storyline and dialogue aspects of Fallout 3, which I feel were poor. I'm doubly interested because J.E. Sawyer finally got to helm a Fallout game likely to see release. Maybe not a traditional one, but as close as it gets. I would imagine it's a dream project for him, and that makes me anticipate more.

Cross fingers and hope Obsidian manage to successfully combine the Bioware finish with their own ambition. I really enjoyed Fallout 3, despite the weak plot and vague characters - it was one of the most addictive games I've played in a long while ('just one more area before bed-time!'). I hope Obsidian don't completely sacrifice the scope to the story-telling.

I never really got into Fallout 3. Never really liked Bethesda's style. I hope New Vegas is less like 3 and more like, well I don't know. Dragon Age? I haven't played an Obsidian game come to think of it.

It's looking a lot like Fallout 2 so far.

ME LIKEY!

If this is as good as I expect, it's eclipse Fallout 3 entirely.

It's a pretty good team-up, each team convering the other's weaknesses. I just hope Obsidian doesn't have too little time on this one.

I also hope we're playing as the kid of the Bishop's.

Perhaps with Obsidian on board it will actually have good story-telling this time.

I'm definitely buying it. Despite Fallout 3's many flaws, I still played it a great deal and had fun most of the time. However, I do have to say that my expectations are pretty high this time around, and I hope Obsidian doesn't rush the project like they've done in the past.

I would be even happier if they put McGyver as mayor of a junk town again.

Oh definitely. If Bethesda sticks to world design and Obsidian does the writing it will be a perfect combination.

No offense to Obsidian, but they're the masters of messing up games (sequels especially). NWN2 and Kotor 2. Ouch. I'll probably still get the game, but I'm not holding my breath for anything spectacular.

Oh, I don't know when New Vegas is supposed to happen.

Fallout 1 is in 2161, Fallout 2 is 2241, 80 years after Fallout 1. Fallout Tactics I have no idea. I think it was in between FO1 and FO2. Fallout 3, according to the internet, is 2277, some years after FO2.

So, overall, we have no idea. He could be alive... after all, if Harold lives around the wastes, why couldn't he be. And besides, he's awesome, this makes him become even more alive :P

Does anyone know how large the map of New Vegas will be? Or will it be like FO3, a city and its outskirts? I'd rather have good old big map with more small cities.

Whoa Obsidian is making the new fallout? :( I have never cared for their poor sequels to Bioware games I don't their sequel to a Bethesda game will be much better. I do plan on trying the game though b/c aside from the terrible ending(depending which you chose but i mean the "oh you died...wait we like money & expansion you're ok!) I loved Fallout 3!!!

I really can't even explain what i dislike so strongly about them... I mean KotOR2 the characters just feel dry. I know we get cool looking robes & new force powers but that can't make up for the dull plot & extremely dull characters. Fallout 3 never went too in depth with any specific person besides your dad so I don't think there is much to worry about but I can't believe I didn't pay attention & know Obsidian will be making New Vegas.

You have to consider lot of people that made the first fallouts are now in Obsidian. if you do care for the first fallouts at all (which, IMO, are much, much, MUCH better than the third)

Looks very awesome indeed.
I was adicted to Fallout 3 when I first played it for quite some time.
The only thing that was disappointing was the ending and the random crashing.
But I look forward to this new one^_^

And KOTOR 2 characters dry? You've gotta be kidding me.
I know that KOTOR2 was a little unfininished because they ran out of time but all in all the story was a masterpiece. I found KOTOR2 far more interesting than KOTOR1(no offence to Bioware but KOTOR 1 feels pretty second rate in comparison.) Kreia especially is the character that made the game truly outstanding.
