Concerns about a 2011 release for ME3

So far I am happy Bioware now have the financial backing to make such quality products. The only gripe I have with EA is that once in a while we have to put up with some really stupid commercials, like the "Sacred Ashes" trailer for DA. But even the trailers for ME2 where awesome.

Plus even if they did say TOR will be coming out next year, they might delay it due to feedback or problems found during testing. I believe BioWare would want to be extra careful with TOR seeing how WoW is dominating the MMORPG stage at the moment, even with the likes of Star Trek Online. They need to be able to compete with WoW in the long run, so theres a chance they may hold it back and make changes.
So a 2011 release for Mass Effect 3? Yes, but its hard to say which month, quarter or day they plan to release on.

Bioware probably wants to get two more uses out of it before pioneering or adapting a new engine.

When has Bioware ever rushed a release?
Did you ever pause to consider exactly why every side mission in ME1 was copy/pasted from one of the same three buildings?

Cause it would be too much effort to create entirely new Environments for every single one?

Same reason I can't recruit Samara off the bat in ME2, pandering to the inferior power of consoles.

And let's not forget Dragon Age: Awakening and arguably Mass Effect 2 (with it's Zaeed/Hammerhead DLC).
I hope they don't have to release this game in 2011 thanks to EA/shareholders. I don't mind to wait for 2012 (but please release this game before 12/12/2012

I'll assume that was a reference to that stupid end of the world prediction because of the Mayan calendar, if so then I'll correct you by saying its 21/12/2012.bas273 wrote...

Bear in mind Dragon Age is on the sequel track as well and I imagine that will take around two years to do.
I hope ME 3 comes out earlier, especially because it seems the ME 2 to 3 transition is going to be nearly seamless. There probably won't be, story wise, a large gap of time between them and technology wise I imagine the graphics engine is probably going to stay the same.
Yep I totaly forgot about DA .
Tbh I wouldn't complain that they release ME3 even in Q1 2013 , my only wish is to make it epic ( not to rush things and ruin the story ) , because last sequal of this game really deserve to be epic .
They wait too long though and people start losing their save games for various reasons. PC Gamers upgrade, console gamers delete them or whatever, etc etc. The longer they wait, the less chance for a seamless continuity between ME 2 and 3.
Hell, I wouldn't care if Bioware decided to give ME3 a blizzard development cycle (aka: put absolutely everything cool and polish the hell out of every aspect of the game, test even trivial features of the game for months on end and ultimately take four years at the least to produce a game that is absolutely amazing.)

This.
If the amount of time I have to wait for ME3 to come out is proportional to how good the final product is I will gladly wait until the end of 2012.

I agree with many that few changes will need to be made to graphics as it is pretty optimized for the console. Casey did mention using DLC to test some new graphical effects (saying that the DLC will look better than ME2 as they develop further... but there will be no huge change in that department... just tweaking).
I am also suspecting that there will be few new squadmates to generate as most will come from ME2, and a few from ME1. Just visual and motion tweaks (facial expressions).
I can't see much changing in the combat realm as it is pretty slick as it is... but I am sure some minor tweaks will appear.
I think most development time will be but into generating a game that is a little more open world than ME2 using elements like the hammerhead more, and explorable worlds that appear to be coming our way in Overlord.
I look forward to the end result.

I don't think it's Bioware (alone) who's rushing :-(
They have a greedy corporation breathing down their necks, not the best attitude for getting a job done.
EA owns Bioware so really its not greedy and plus they are already working on ME 3

You realise that ME2 and Dragon Age use different game engines? ME2 uses a licensed, modified Unreal 3 engine; Dragon Age uses a house-developed engine (hence the existence of the toolset).Arawn-Loki wrote...

I want Wrex, Liara, Ashley Williams(or Kaidan, depending on who you saved), and the rachni queen i saved in ME1 to be squad mates in ME3...imagine the chaos that would be caused if you had a rachni queen on your squad.
Wait, the rachni queen? Would it fire egg at enemies?
