Hey all
I was wondering if you guys experience the same.
After one hour of playing loading times are really long and i got a framerate drop of 20 fps.
Conversations opening takes a long time to load and getting in your invetory takes some time aswell
When i start to play DaO(first 10 min) i dont have any problems with loading, takes just the blink of an eye
Btw great game:D

I read that turning off the "Persistent Gore" would shorten the load time. I was going to check on the forums here before trying it - but it seems as though everyone is as baffled as me.
My load times reach well-over 5 minutes after about 3-4 hours.
I drop a note if turning off "Persistent Gore" works.

I tried turning off "persistent gore" last night and it seemed to help. I didn't play past 4 hours - so I can't say what the long term effects will be.
But it might help to speed up some of the high battle areas...

Having exactly the same problem.
My answer is to save, exit and restart when it slows down too much. (After an hour or two.)
I find, at that point, that it is faster to save, exit and resume than to wait for the loading screen.

I'm having the same problem. I would guess that some cache somewhere is not being efficiently cleared during gameplay. Must be a RAM utilization problem, right? Seems it could be fixed. BioWare?

I was going fine until I hit Orzammar oddly... then I had a 7 minute loading time all of a sudden. The cacheing problem sounds most likely. I too shall try the persistent gore idea. It sounds like it may help.

Turning off Persistent Gore dose help but after about 2 hours the load times reach back to 5+ minutes. Best thing is to restart computer. Alas Bioware will probably never fix this problem.

Same here - sometimes I start seeing really long load times after less than 30 minutes of play.

turning off persistant gore made no differance for me whatsoever, I wouldn't mind if it was just loading screens increasing a little bit every time but my fps drops to unplayable levels.
I think it'll be a great injustice if they don't patch this up, it's kinda ruining the game for me.

I believe there was a couple other posts about this and it's a common problem. Unfortunately it's just a memory leak, and until Bioware comes up with a patch to fix it, just quit out to the main menu (closing the game isn't necessary) and load up a game, only takes a few moments to do and it'll save you a -lot- of time.

it hasn't been confirmed as a memory leak. some dev specifically requested we call it as it presents itself: (critically) increasing load times.
now that bit of anal retentiveness is out of the way, it also hasn't been confirmed or even addressed no matter what it's called. considering they had so much extra time with the PC version while MS and Sony vetted their versions last year, it's appalling such a gimping bug would get through.

But there are also cases where the menu navigation becomes utterly slow so when I quit to main menu and press Load game it just freezes for a few minutes. Then, when the game is loaded it's still the same.
Some people think this is game caching game assets for faster loads. I don't believe it is. The game is leaking memory for sure. I've been monitoring my memory and page file and after a longer period of playing both get drained and the game slows down to a crawl.

By any chance, are you guys running Phenom/multicore processors? There have been a couple or posts addressing this issue. This is the post that helped me fix my issues:
http://social.biowar...156838/1#156838
There is another post dealing with setting processor "affinity" that helped where the first solution didn't (third point down):
http://social.biowar...8/index/189269/
Hope that helps.
