Hi, wonder if anyone can help me figure out why i have a small message (PHYSX>CPU) sat in the top left corner of my screen all the time, i have the latest drivers and i cant seem to find any info on this.
It's not stopping me playing just annoying, and after i double checked all my drivers and played around with the ingame graphic setting and couple restarts, i'm hoping to find an idea to fix this before i try to reinstall since i'm using a Steam DL and i dont feel like waiting all that time if i can help it.

Thanks for any help offered.

Taken from a post by Pavachan.

I am using the newest nvidia beta drivers, 195.39, and they have a
PhysX Indicator option in the 3D Settings menu (next to the File / Edit
/ View etc), which shows text at the top left corner in the game,
indicating what type of physx acceleration the game is using. in Dragon
Age, it shows : PhysX > CPU.

I hope this helps.

What that person means is: Go into your NVIDIA control panel, go to the "manage 3d settings" area, and click "3d settings" on the file menu at the top. Uncheck the "Show PhysX Visual Indicator" option. That'll fix it. It's there for you to use in testing games to see if your game supports PhysX, and/or if your card(s) or your CPU is doing PhysX. (There's al an SLI indicator to show if your game is using SLI: for the record, DAO does not use SLI, however, if you have SLI, you can use the SLI Anti-aliasing options to make the game look a lot better.

I've had DAO for a few months and I haven't played it for a while. I just got back to it recently and when I click "Play", I get an error reading, "Error initializing PhysX. Please visit http:// www.nvidia.com/physx for updated drivers." In an effort to solve this, I've tried to uninstall the game as well, but I get an error message reading, "Dragon Age: Origins was not found on this computer." Someone please help, as I am utterly lost.

These games use the PhysX for CPUs, and sometimes the video drivers from nVIDIA, and/or other versions of PhysX, you may have collected with other games, can create problems.  However, right on the game CD, the needed copy of PhysX is still there to install from.  Remove any "No-CD" exes before attempting any patches, updates, uninstalls, etc, and recopy the original Exe file back where it belongs.
