Hi all,

I have been suffering like many people it appears with choppy gameplay and jumping graphics in windows, even with the lowest graphic options set.

So far after numerous different options, finally my copy of DA:O is running on mid range graphic options without the choppy gameplay/graphics.

My Specs:
Windows 7 32bit
Acer Laptop - 7535G
AMD TuronX2 Ultra ZM-82
4GB Memory
ATI HD4570 (min 512mb upto 1512mb)
Realtek High Definition Audio (all it lists)

I have done the following things in an attempt to get the game running smoothly, and after the last two options I appear to have succeeded (so far from the limited playing time I have had...)

1) I stop various non essential services, this of course will vary from person to person (and OS). You must remember to restart these services as some are required for using windows 7 properly - a restart will do that. Using batch files I stop and start the following:

"Application Experience"
"Windows Error Reporting Service"
"Diagnostic Policy Service"
"IP Helper"
"Print Spooler"
"Distributed Link Tracking Client"
"Protected Storage"
"Themes"
"TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper"
"Windows Search"
"Windows Update"
"Windows Firewall"
"Apple Mobile Device"
"Bonjour Service"
"FLEXnet Licensing Service"
"iPod Service"
"VMware Authorization Service"
"VMware DHCP Service"
"VMware NAT Service"
"VMware USB Arbitration Service"
"Windows Backup"
"Windows Defender"

I started doing this before I discovered the audiodg.exe issue, it did help improve performance though not alot it was enough to enjoy the game a little more - I still do this each time I play DA:O as it shaves off some memory and CPU cycles.

2) With the audiodg.exe issue I tried things, firstly I performed the option here: http://technicallyea...high-cpu-usage/

Not too sure if it has helped, nothing was noticable, secondly I killed the process which definitely improved performance, but ruins the game without sound...so soon discounted this option :D

3) Sound Card Driver update & CleanMem (http://www.pcwintech.com/cleanmem) - unfortunately I have run these both together but it was after this my system seemed capable of running smoothly. Originally I had whatever driver Microsoft Update installed, however I decided to try reinstalling the sound card using the driver downloaded from Realtek - after the reboot and installing CleanMem I tried DA:O and so far it appears to run smoothly...

I now run the game in a window on high graphics and medium textures reasonably happy.

Hope this may be of help to someone.
