Jack rocks. i can understand that the majority of people don't "warm up" to her though. she not too outgoing and a little confrontational.
i think Zaeed is wicked too. And ERRRRbody hates his ass with a passion around here. They're just to GODAM scared of him i guess.
Not really, I dislike Zaeed because he wasn't fleshed out enough and all I got from his character during his loyalty mission was that he'd completely **** up my missions if I didn't keep a short leash on him. Seriously, blowing up a whole refinery to kill one person? And not even tell me this guy was the real reason we were there, idiot, if he told me he wanted to kill that guy in the first place I could've set up my sniper on him and dropped him in one shot without the need for all the pointless explosions and civilian murdering. <_<

When you talk to her, she assumes that you want to have sex with her. I suppose it makes sense in context of her character, but it was off putting for me.

I actually liked Zaeed. He made me chuckle. He was professional though. Jack was all livejournal and angsty.
Zaeed truly is in dire need of some Chapstick though.

Second: Bald.
Third: Tatooes. All over. Yikes.
Fourth: Crazy. Thats a given.
Fifth: Even without problems 1-4, next to Miranda she doesn't have a chance, LI wise.

As a personal preference for attraction I wholly understand, as attraction can be fickle. As a way to judge a persons worth however, I think that is an incredibly shallow judgement, having known both very professional and well educated people with body art (I myself do not have any as I don't have much I want to get carved into my flesh) who are not only responsible in their professional life but are responsible wives, husbands, mothers, and fathers. As far as younger people most I know are well adjusted, and are just as likely to be good/bad people as those who do not. *shrug*
Yeah, I'm actually rather disappointed in myself for making that value judgment... but if I'm being brutally honest, it is definitely there. I would absolutely defend anyone's right to adorn themselves in any way they see fit... but I still wouldn't date a woman with tattoos.
It goes beyond the aesthetic for me.. I guess I've seen too many people go through the process of having "body art" removed or repaired.
Google "tooth to tattoo ratio" and you'll see a lot of empirical evidence stacked up out there against getting "inked."
I'm not above admitting that I'm far from perfect and can be a judgemental pr1ck.

That said, I didn't like Miranda. I could get past the ink, and I sort of warmed to Jack (and of course told the cheerleader to smeg off when she was having her biotic catfight with Jack), but I never could get past the bald part.
Aesthetics :/

I can't stand Miranda. Yet everyone loves her. She supports a racist organization that does horrible experiments on others just for the "good" of humanity. She doesn't mind being used as a tool for everyones ends and shes selfish and cocky as hell.
Cerberus isn't racist. It is nationalist. Wanting your nation to be on top and thinking that other races are inherently inferior are not the same thing. Ashley Williams (and several of the C-Sec and/or Alliance human NPCs from both games) is far more of a racist than any of the Cerberus people you meet in ME2.

First of all, her name's Jack. HER name. What kind of a chick's name is Jack? I wouldn't have minded her going as "Subject Zero" as much, in comparison.
Probably short for Jacqueline, and she just doesn't remember, due to where she grew up. Not as common a nickname as Jackie, but it does happen. "Tunnel in the Sky" by Heinlein would be another example.

Best chacter in the game. The only bad thing abour her are those HUUUUUUUUUUGE lips. They take, like, half her face.
So does Morrigan. She has little pinhole eyes.

Because she hates that name....for a very good reason.

Before the game released, all people had to go on was a few seconds of dialog and they instantly disliked her foul nature. Since the game has released, she may not be the favorite love interest of the forums, but that doesn't equal hate. Most people I have seen that were ready to hate Jack were pleasantly surprised by her story and what made her what she is today. I'd say it ranks up there as my favorite loyalty mission.

Edit, as a pet peeve I did not like any characters who don't wear proper space suits on missions in space (collector ship).
So basically everyone other than Garrus, Tali, and Shepard.
No, even Zaeed, Zaeed!, puts on a proper helment, not just an oxygen mask.

Some of us went as far as analyzing her tattoos. On her left arm there are three faces that depict Jack at different stages in her life. She used to have long hair and was quite attractive until she began shaving her head, adding tattoos, and heavy makeup.
So much crap has happened to her - the experimenting, the rape, and so on - that she intentionally pushes people away and [I think] would go so far as to make herself look unattractive just so she could be left alone.
Because that's what she believes she wants.
If she wasn't fighting or causing mayhem with her biotics, then what was the point in her even having so much power pummeled into her? Fighting gives her purpose, it's what she was made for, and she didn't have much opportunity to see otherwise. She's obviously tried to find places where she could belong like cults, gangs, outlaw colonies. She realized too late someone had loved her enough to want to build a home with her when he sacrificed his life to save hers.
I mean, hell, is it so hard to empathize with her a little?
Miranda's argument with Jack annoyed me because even if she's correct in the fact each Cerberus cell is separate from the rest, she couldn't even find it in herself to see how even the Illusive Man couldn't control everything that goes on in his organization. And as a small part in his grand vision, she couldn't feel a sense of responsibility for the sacrifices Cerberus makes towards their goal.
And worse, she called Jack a mistake. That's as bad as the Salarians viewing the Krogan as a scourge upon the universe while denying the fact they made them who the Krogan are now.
---
Other than that, has anyone noticed how much more kissing Jack actually does over the rest of the LIs? Unlike the rest who come to Shepard to get boned, she goes in and settles for cuddling! In her experience, sex was a means to an end, she'd rather not play around with someone who takes her seriously.

I dont even hate Miranda after playing and I went in to the game thinking I would loathe her with a passion.
The only character I absolutely detest is Jacob, maybe Zaeed or what ever his name is, I didnt have him for the first playthrough, he is in for the second but so far he feels empty and just tacked on for the sake of DLC.
