Ok, I know that alot of people are giving their 2 cents as to what needs to be improved. I have gathered feedback from reading topics on this forum for the past 4 days regarding what needs improving or changing. I know not everybody will agree with me here, but I feel these are a few really good ideas. Image IPB

So many people seem to dislike that Mass Effect 2 is "RPG lite". From the crictics, to the gamers. However, Mass Effect wasn't ever RPG heavy. It was more of a balance of 3rd person action/shooter with RPG narrative, characters, level system, and customization. Customization however, has taken a back seat in Mass Effect 2. The cluttered inventory system from Mass Effect 1 has been scratched altogether in the sequel. My suggestion? Allow weapon customization, and more armor customization. In Mass Effect 1, guns had slots for upgrades to be equipped just as the armor did. In Mass Effect 3 we should have 1 upgrade slot for all guns, and armor.

To further the customization, we should have more options in changing our "Captains Cabin". With Mass Effect 2, we are able to buy fish, model ships, and a space hamster for our Captains Cabin.  In Mass Effect 3, it should take it a step forward by being able to buy art, furniture, lava lamps etc etc. Which would add more customization, and thererfor adding a little bit more of RPG elements. I honestly have not seen a single person suggest this idea. I take full credit in it Image IPB

Back to the subject of weapons and armor; there needs to be more of them. Not to the extreme like Mass Effect 1 where there was Colossus V, Colossus IX, Colossus X etc etc. Instead there needs to be a balance. I don't think Mass Effect 3 should have the looting system, in part because that might slow the pace of the game down a bit. I was very surprised that we cannot buy ANY guns from ANY shops in Mass Effect 2. None whatsoever.

I would also like to see more in squad interactions (like quite a few other people on the forum). I got that recipe for the cook (Garner), but I can't eat the wonderful new food with any of my squad members?  I want to hear more comments between my squad members. Thats the only thing that was good about the elevator rides in Mass Effect 1.

Thats all I can think of for now. Feel free to add any thoughts. Image IPB

Oh, and I forgot to mention side missions. The environments are more varied on side planets in ME2 than in ME1, but there is nothing Shepard or you're squadmates say about the side quests. In Mass Effect 1, you and you're squadmates would make a few comments about a few sidequests. ME3 needs more dialogue with side quests.

Party banter a la DA:O would be good as has been suggested in other threads, and uh, actually I kind of do want some plants for my cabin...I live in Hawaii, so I'm used to having a lot of greenery around - heh.

Just a few things:

Mass Effect 2 did great with having so many missions and assignments to cover and there are so many things to kill and collect.

I love collecting small things that add to the cabin and to my clothes and armor drawer. I love all the customizing in the game from adding ship parts to choosing the color of your armor.

The story is interesting though I am not finished yet, I hope to see more of the kind of amazing story that got me hooked in the first place

Also I am having a hard time understanding why I can only gain exp through completing missions. I want to get exp from killing enemies.

Mass Effect started as a 3rd person shooter action/rpg.

Gaining exp from finishing missions is good but should not stop there. You should gain it from killing and exploring as well.

I love how your money is actually useful in Mass Effect 2 also as is the minerals you collect.

Agreed!  People complained that the side missions in ME1 were boring but the one redeemable quality was the coments your squad during them.

On the plus side though there are some missions actually lead somewhere(one thing i complained about in ME1).  Example, there's one where you find a crashed ship where there's some rouge mechs which leads another mission and that mission leads to another.

Not only that, but some of the side missions had a story in Mass Effect 1. Mass Effect 2? Nope. I liked how I got an email from Coporal Toombs saying how he heard I was working with Cerberus now. I forget the rest, but he was pissed. I also heard something about Coporal Toombs on Galactic News (I forgot what it said). With Mass Effect 3, they won't be able to bring back any characters from side planets in Mass Effect 2. Because theres no story involved.

With Mass Effect 2 its, oh heres a bunch of mercs. Oh, I better stop them because their such a big threat. The only side quest from Mass Effect 2 that sticks out, is when you have to choose to save either a small district of people, or a financial district.

I agree. I have felt annoyed by that. At the very least, we should get xp for beating heavy mechs, scions, etc.
