Who needs the CE? We make what we want!

My question is this : With the tool set can we not create items that are far superior to what the offer in the CE. Except the extra stories, that takes time.
Just thought it seems strange

Yes you will. :innocent:Jassper wrote...
I don't believe you won't be able to get them into the OC.

The items are inconsequential, since you can edit the "game proper" to put your own created items in the game if you really wanted to. Just open the toolset, create a ring with +1 to all stats, then insert that item into one of the early areas so that you can pick it up when you start the game. You can even create your own stronghold/keep if you wanted a storage area. Simple. *Warning* Make a backup of the area before you start tinkering but especially before you save! *End Warning*

I figure it might be easy to add the new item via console command, but put it in a chest... dunno about that.

Then you edited and copied them back, and it just worked. IIRC.

I always added my own items from the toolset into the main campaign by simply dropping them on the ground in a simple module I'd made, I would make a character, save it and then pick up the items in the mod. THEN I would start a new game with said character and have all of the items...But I don't think you can save characters in this game the same way you could in NWN, so I still don't see how you can add items into the OC.Jab0r wrote...
It was fairly straightforward to mod the OC in NWN. The editor attempted to not let you open the OC modules until you'd completed them in a normal playthrough, but simply copying them from the "OC" folder to the "Custom Modules" folder circumvented that.
Then you edited and copied them back, and it just worked. IIRC.

Never download user content? Perhaps if you are thinking of Bethesda user content, but the greatest content we should be seeing are modules that contain completely new areas, quest, setting, etc.merak43 wrote...
i allmost never download the user content (the ones i do download must not make me overpowered as i become bored to easly)
i did get the CE edition for this game though
Of course I love fluff items as well, so anything that changes appearances, body types, hair, etc. for the better will be great to download as well. =)

Secondly, we get a cloth map and a DVD.
Me? I don't care about all that. I hope that Bioware gets a few bucks extra out of me buying the CE and this is my way of supporting a company that has given me such great games and memories (thinking of Baldur's Gate ... Minsk ... Yoshimo's betrayal ...). I seldom buy CEs and this time it's purely out of the reason mentioned: I want to show my support and I'm pretty confident that I'll get a game that keeps me happy for a long time (and a toolset).
