You do get to start at lvl 5 if your ME1 import is lvl 60.
I think you start out at lvl 4 if your import is lvl 50 I am not sure.

a lvl 59 character starts at lvl 3, 5k of each resource, and 125k credits. (might be 130)
a lvl 60 character starts at lvl 5, 10k of each resource, and 150k credits.

Is it possible to reach lvl 60 in first play through on ME1? or would I have to play a second with same character ?
thanks

Anyway, my real question is if I have a lvl 49 character and do another play-through on that same character and say reach a lvl 60 character. Will I be able to import this 2 separate characters or only the lvl60?

Don't know if there's an ultimate limit on playthroughs or levels.

Finishing lvl 60 vs 59 starts you 2 levels higher. I imported a 59 and ended the game 2 levels shy of the ME2 lvl 30 level cap. So essentially, if you bring in a lvl 60 ME1 character, you can get to the level cap on your first run of ME2. Now I have to play through again if I want to hit 30.Hawksafe wrote...
ok, I might not make it to level 60 on this playthough and I am NOT playing through again. Would I start at level 4 and what not if I don't make it that extra level? and what about the resources?

The reason I say this is because a lot of the characters from the ME1 side quests will interact with you in ME2, but only if you do their quests, and it's fun to see them again.

Got the achievement for Level 60 in an uncompleted 3rd playthrough last year, though. I suppose achievements don't transfer, just the actual data in the profile you're importing over to Part 2?
Anyway, I'll find out soon enough. Finally popping in ME2 in a few minutes...
