ok, I might not make it to level 60 on this playthough and I am NOT playing through again. Would I start at level 4 and what not if I don't make it that extra level? and what about the resources?

um no, I am doing everything in the second playthrough. I don't want to do everything again. You didn't even answer my question.

You HAVE to be at lvl 60. You don't get the bonus for ALMOST getting there.

You do get to start at lvl 5 if your ME1 import is lvl 60.

I think you start out at lvl 4 if your import is lvl 50 I am not sure.

a lvl 46 character starts at lvl 2, 2.5k of each resource, and 100k credits.
a lvl 59 character starts at lvl 3, 5k of each resource, and 125k credits. (might be 130)
a lvl 60 character starts at lvl 5, 10k of each resource, and 150k credits.

Is it possible to reach lvl 60 in first play through on ME1? or would I have to play a second with same character ?
thanks :wizard:

ok, let me get this straight, you can playthrough as many times as you want with the same character? Doesn't matter if that character is already lvl 60?

Anyway, my real question is if I have a lvl 49 character and do another play-through on that same character and say reach a lvl 60 character. Will I be able to import this 2 separate characters or only the lvl60?

Each time you beat the game, you get a separate profile save file which you can import to ME2. So you'll have access to the lvl 49 AND 60. One doesn't overwrite the other.

Don't know if there's an ultimate limit on playthroughs or levels.

Finishing lvl 60 vs 59 starts you 2 levels higher.  I imported a 59 and ended the game 2 levels shy of the ME2 lvl 30 level cap.  So essentially, if you bring in a lvl 60 ME1 character, you can get to the level cap on your first run of ME2.  Now I have to play through again if I want to hit 30. :(

If you complete everything and only almost get to 60, just import your late 50s character rather than do a quick run-through to get to 60. It's easy to make up the extra couple of levels, especially if you do the ME2 N7 (side) quests.

The reason I say this is because a lot of the characters from the ME1 side quests will interact with you in ME2, but only if you do their quests, and it's fun to see them again.

First playthrough is capped at Lvl 50, second playthrough won't give enough XP to reach Lvl 60 (not sure if the Pinnacle Station DLC changes that though) . Thus I guess it's fair that the Lvl 60 gets a much higher Lvl than a Lvl 59 import.

First playthrough, yes, it is capped, the man/woman was saying that in one playthrough you can only get from 1-54 (though someone on the old boards reached 58) AFTER you have unlocked level 60.

Damn, second playthrough and 2000 XP shy of 60! I even made it to level 54 in the first playthough. I should've spent more combat time outside the Mako. :(

Got the achievement for Level 60 in an uncompleted 3rd playthrough last year, though. I suppose achievements don't transfer, just the actual data in the profile you're importing over to Part 2?

Anyway, I'll find out soon enough. Finally popping in ME2 in a few minutes...

difficulty level does not affect XP gain
