Heh, I'm a sword and shield type all the way I think. I really enjoy all that bashing.Decapitations kind of freak me out a little....
See, decapitations are one of the reasons I'm so crazy about DW.

They also make those personal kills all the more satisfying. (Not shown: Sten in the next room, decapitating a Qunari mage. Also fitting).

Okay, that just really cemented my feeling that I don't ever want to play a DW character, and that it's probably a good thing that I don't use Leiliana of Zevran all that much.
I think we can all be glad that we can't decapitate characters that have post-fight/pre-death cutscenes. Although it might make the Landsmeet a little more interesting.

Oddly enough, happened to me too. Wonder if it's scripted that way?
When it happened to me, I was thinking 'Glad you got that out your system, Leli me girl.'

You can! When you rescue Anora, fight Ser Cauthrien, pull her in the room where you found Anora, fight her and decapitate her. Then go back to the other room and lose the fight.I think we can all be glad that we can't decapitate characters that have post-fight/pre-death cutscenes. Although it might make the Landsmeet a little more interesting.
Later, when you go to the Landsmeet you will meet her again and you will think "Hey! In Ferelden they must have highly-developed medicine or why she has her head back!"

Edit: it's funny sometimes when it's a being with no blood and all of a sudden *poof* headless

In my first playthrough, Ohgren ended Branka's insanity by cleaving her head clean off her shoulders. I think it added a couple more levels of emotional scarring to the ol' dwarf.
Eeeee! Poor guy! And to chop her head of.... I try and make sure that Oghren isn't the one to kill Branka. That's not generally a problem, since he usually gets knocked out before the end ot the fight.

DECAPS ROCK! They don't happen too often but when they do I pay extra attention for a juicy sound.
Love the killing moves, although I still think the beheading-noise is pretty disgusting. Never really noticed it until I started playing with headphones: hearing that "squish-slobber-drip-drip"-sort of noise at full blast was slightly disturbing...
