I guess this is the most appropriate forum, so I'll post here. It seems my text lines are horizontally shorter than everyone else's. Just want to confirm that and find out why, so could someone else help me out and post a reply here with text covering more than one line? Would be very helpful. :)

I don't believe that should be a problem as there is no way to change font size just color, form (italic ) and such hope you will find that we have similar text showing up and this small paragraph will be helpful. From my viewpoint everything you have written looks just fine.

Hmmm, in my paragraph the text cuts at the words 'seems', 'Just', 'help', 'line?', ending with my smiley, creating 5 lines in total. Does it look like that for you too?

No you have 3 lines of text first line ends at EVERYONE second line ends at TEXT and the last line ends with the smiley

Ah... think I realized why...
Everyone actually sees their text more "cramped", as the "invisible" text box stops at the red dot (the one next to 'Report this post').
It is always further to the left in your own posts since you have an extra link 'Edit' or 'Edit topic'.
That's a bit bugged though, don't you think? The text box shouldn't just end at the red dot, there's plenty of space further to the right. :)

Just to show you, your first post here cuts at 'just', 'up', 'have' and ends with 'fine', 4 lines. Do you see your own post like that as well?

Doesn't matter which one I use. I'm not talking about the text box you write in, but the in the post itself where your text appears.
So you're saying that in all your posts above, your text goes all the way to 'Link'?
I see all lines in the posts breaking at the red dot next to 'Report this post', making it even shorter lines in my own posts since the red dot is even further to the left due to the 'Edit' link.

The post just above here uses 7 lines on my screen, it looks dumb. :(

Something else must be wrong. What about screen resolution??? Have you tried to logout and log back in? otherwise I would check with a mod under technical issues to get it corrected

I wonder if there is something in the forums settings that you can change

I have the same as you.

I mean, the white text box I write in goes all the way over to Link, but in all the completed posts I view, both my own and others', the text cuts at the red dot.

What web browser are you using?

Interesting .....everything you post looks right to everyone else..........but when you view it in topic it appears short. Definitely need someone with more smarts than my limited old gray matter. Have you checked one of the tech forums.

Here's a screenshot of how it looks on my screen:
Image IPB

See what I mean?

I use IE8, nothing special otherwise. I've tried relogging and also tried with compability settings both on and off for this site, still the same...

Any help?

It will be an IE8 thing - so here was the right place to report it for it to be fixed :)

This isn't an issue in IE8 running IE8 mode. Inexplicably, IE8 seems to default to compatibility mode and that's what's causing it. Adding a
width:96.8%
to
.SEPForumTextOutput
aligns the right hand edges and doesn't affect the layout in IE8 (in IE8 mode). I don't know about Firefox but I would be surprised if it responded differently.

[Edit]
As mentioned elsewhere, I also get horrible lag running in IE8 mode so I'm sticking with compatibility for now. I get similar lag on other javascript heavy sites but have no idea what the actual cause is.

So you're saying everyone with IE8 experiences this? I mean, to me it seems I can run this site both in compability mode and without, but it's still the same problem with the text.

And I'm not sure I understood you, but could I fix this somehow now? If so, how? (Got no idea where the .SEPForumTextOutput thing is).

Any help would be much appreciated. :)
