I reinstalled ME1 or rather installed it for the first time on my new machine.  The game won't run for me but the launcher works so I figured I would try to patch the game and see if that fixes it.  While doing so I noticed the links on the launcher don't work:

Hopefuly bioware knows about this and is "on it".  In the mean time can anyone provide a link to the patch, or tell me how to get this game to work in windows 7 64bit.

You should post this in the PC Technical Support forum. There might be more information related to your problem there as well.
