I've seen a fair amount of association with stealth and being the scout. If I want to be more of a backstabber extradanoire are there better ways to go (ala Coup de Grace)... or can stealth theoretically be good for a melee oriented , not skill trap/lock picking, rogue?

I noticed you don't get combat stealth till the third level , so that hurts....

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
