Alright lets get this out of the way i thought he was a Major Badass but the only issue is his class i mean come on shotgun.. with that guy im thinking he's an assault Rifle type of person to me. Also i don't like how he is with Cerebus I have always hated cerebus but they had a good role in ME2

Does anyone know the reward you receive for beating ME Galaxy aka Jacob's Story

I don't like the APPROACH a Female Shepard has towards him (never tried Male Shepard in ME2 so far, can't tell if it's the same for Male Shepard, and I HOPE it ain't the same). As a female Shep when you're talking to Jacob she takes some suggestive body posture and talks to him in a suggestive voice tone, I couldn't role-play the whole thing, BioWare basically took control of the situation and said "see? she's obviously crazy about him, look at how she talks to him!", no thanks, I'd rather have my own control over a romance with Grunt than having BioWare taking decisions like that for me with Jacob.

Oh, but, other than that, other than the potential romance stuff and suggestive voice tone... the character himself of Jacob is fine by me, and he's a nice biotic on the battlefield.

I think he's really underwritten. Also the most stereotypical character type. That's exacerbated by the fact that he's effectively "Shepard-lite". As a result I found him kind of a dull squadmate.

If they'd expanded more on his obvious moral quandries about Cerberus, and his past romantic involvement with Miranda, both of which are hinted at, they could have made a lot more of the character.

Always play a male shep so I didn't do the romance thing but I did the bromance thing. I used him quite a bit although the constant saluting was a little off putting. No body else on the whole ship saluted you but he snapped to attention all the time...old Alliance training must die hard.

I like him he and Garrus were my wingmen for my Shephard, I get a good laugh ever time i think about my coming back from a mission after doing something full hardy with Garrus and Jacob at his and Miranda standing there glaring Daggers at the three of the them for being stupid.

I like him alot better than Kaiden for god sakes i found Kaiden so boring.. Jacob was almost like Shephard a normal soilder put into in situation much bigger than him

Yeah I had a problem with that too.  I just wanted to speak with him like a normal human being, ask about his background and whatnot, and everything that came out of Shepherd's mouth was like "hey baby".

As far as the character himself - I though he was the least interesting squadmate in ME2, though I found him less dull than Kaiden.  His character design was super hot I guess, although is there any real human male with that severe of a shoulder to waist ratio?

Jacob's a bro. If Lyrandori is right, Bioware should have toned FemShep's interaction with Jacob down, though. I played as male shepard so I can't say for myself. Jacob's a nice guy, hard to dislike him. But apparently some do because of typical male rival aggression.

Oh, believe me, I am right, just try a Female Shep and you'll see, it's very unsettling, especially for role-players at heart, my own Female Shepard does like to take a drink here and there, have some fun when time allows it, but she would never act that close to any of her crew especially not on the Normandy, it makes her look very unprofessional and almost as ****-looking as Kelly. It's also why I actually avoid speaking with him after I got his side-mission speech to see what happened with his father, other than that I just don't speak to him, the whole dialog thing with him on the Normandy is completely screwed up.

He's a solid guy, and I'd love to have him as a friend, but beyond that... he's not really interesting. And his romance screams creepy to me.

I totally agree with you there, is there certain way I can just have Jacob killed off in the final battle so I won't see him in ME3 for my female Shep?

QFT....but to each his own I guess.  On these boards every character gets their supporters and detractors.

Whenever I use him in my squad he always dies.... and we're talking early, easy missions. I don't like him. I have his points updated and everything and still... dead.

Nope, Jacob is not on my fave list.

Definitely a great human character to fit the "hey not only can i fight with him, i could see myself getting drunk with him too" for the male players.

I liked him because he really fit the Kaiden sized-hole in my Sheperd's command structure. I saw eye-to-eye with Kaiden on aliens and could sympathize with him somewhat because of biotics. Jacob just seemed like a good guy to fit in as right-hand man. I like his "We've talked about everything" dialogue at the end too -- I felt like him and Mordin came across the best as just solid pals to my male Paragon Sheperd.

That's a problem I found for anyone with Shotguns. Tali is the most obvious about it.
