Everyone remembers the vision in ME1... After watching it a few more times and looking at some things in ME2 regarding it, I have a speculation to share.
The vision not only warns of a terrible evil, but also depicts the creation of the collectors. Watch this video on you tube

When you watch it in slow motion, you see the mending of tech and organic. Isnt that what the Collectors are? The images are disgusting and terrible, I didnt really see past this until now. The vision isnt only a warning, its an explanation of the hidious transformation from prothean to Collector.
